The other thing cac dummy is ignoring is that local governments wouldn’t feel so pressured to reopen if the federal government where sending more support. Hard to tell your citizens to stay home and businesses to stay closed it you can’t offer them support to their lives and livelihoods.
presidents dont send states money :dead:

pull what? say theres zero evidence deaths would be drastically down if a dem had been president? you cant refute that with anything but feelings :dahell:

what is biden actually making people do, that trump wasnt making people do? :mindblown:
The federal government did not take control of the initial response:

- Led states to fend for themselves in acquiring supplies, even having to reach out to foregin countries
- Did not make mask wearing a priority in their messaging and example
- Did not fully utilize the DPA, instead urging companies to help on their own
- Did not provide assistance to the public/businesses to help keep people at home
- Did not coordinate any type of vaccine rollout strategy with states
- Repeatedly messaged to the American public that the virus was no worse than influenza, leading to severe public mistrust
- Repeatedly sidelined and contradicted medical leaders like Dr. Fauci, leading to more distrust
- Threatened states by withholding federal assistance, leading to communication breakdowns
- Interfered in the CDC and NIH's responses, falsifying numbers, leading to more mistrust
- Used Twitter to contradict multiple governor's responses(and led to Gretch almost getting kidnapped), leading to more mistrust

The list goes on an on. All of them created more deaths. If you think Biden would've done any of those, you're going batshyt breh.

i thought i was a shoe in for WOAT last year but they didnt do it :dead:

anyway, california has 55 million people. we cant draw a parallel between leadership? :childplease: you sound desperate

and what is biden going to make people start doing, to stop the virus, that trump wasnt doing?

Number of people is irrelevant if the leadership positions are not equivalent. A governor doesn't have the political juice to lean on congress to mandate law and most state law can be trumped (no pun) by federal law.

What can Biden do? How about for starters https://www.washingtonpost.com/loca...67d7ee-5bf9-11eb-8bcf-3877871c819d_story.html

its funny that i made a post indicting america's character as a whole, having nothing to do with politics, and everyones natural inclination was to rush in and defend the democrats from a nonexistent charge :dead:
Number 10: Coming to a thread with the attitude (stated or implied) that you will be attacked by the mean forum goers is toxic to productive discussion. It is also a pretty common trolling tactic, where the troll “predicts” that they will get shyt for daring to disagree with the community, proceeds to engage in several bad faith tactics, and then jumps in with “SEE, JUST LIKE I PREDICTED!” when they are called out by the community and/or banned. They use this to justify their original position on the community, and will sometimes point to the thread as “evidence” while commiserating with their buddies about how horribly they were treated.

so biden is gonna make people wear masks?
No, trump caused permanent damage when he opened his mouth. He made it political to wear a mask. Him calling it a hoax and down playing caused so much damage.

At this point the virus is so out of control we have lost prevention.

this is a good post, but none of it is about the spread of the virus. giving money to states isnt about the behavior that spread the virus. we were never gonna pay everyone in america to stay home for a year, thats asinine

the fact is that none of you have an example of a similar circumstance where the solution was wearing masks and shutting everything down, because it doesnt exist

-Rejected WHO collaboration / testing

-let states bid against each other for PPE

-Thrown out Obama’s pandemic response plan and disbanded that committee of experts

-Held super spreader events

:gucci:

Yes it is. More money to the states means more routes of assistance for cities to provide ways to keep people healthy. That in turn helps model behavior. The only reason restaurants and clubs opened early was because of cash flow and lack of it.

The damage is already done. Just like a child, the easiest point to model and change behavior is at the very beginning.
