Every single actor that was a pilot in this movie went up and flew on the back seat of a jet. Cruise designed a 3 month course for them to be able to withstand the G forces and everything else that is at play when you are inside a super hornet (plus had to teach them how to work the cameras inside the cockpit). They didn't let Cruise fly one because of the risk but people have kinda implied that Tom could fly one no problemDamn this was good. I worked on Super Hornets when I was in the marines and had me liking this flick even more. The flying scenes were amazing. I‘m pretty sure the Navy didn’t let Tom go up in a hornet by himself but I wouldn’t be surprised if some of his scenes were filmed in a 2 seater and made it look like he was flying solo. Has he said if he actually flew a jet like he did in the last Mission Impossible?

Welcome to Tom Cruise’s Flight School for ‘Top Gun: Maverick’
If there was to be a sequel to the ’80s classic ‘Top Gun,’ it was going to need to be even better than the original—and way more realistic. Before the movie hits theaters, the cast of ‘Maverick’ explains what it took to become on-screen pilots.www.theringer.com
What even is the rock’s best action film?Fast five ? which was good but in the realm of action pretty mid and he wasn’t even the main star on that
Cruise flew a helicopter in fallout while filming doing stunt shyt in a canyon. Dude become an elite pool player on color of money. He has that condition that he can be super good at something with just little time
Which is good but those movies arnt just the same as fallout or maverick or predator or T2Hobbs and Shaw for me
I mean, the only reason he didn't fly a jet was because the Navy wasn't risking the millions (paid by taxpayers too) those planes cost
Supposed to be the successor to the sr-71The jet in the beginning is that a real jet? Scramjet?
Hell no it ain’t it’s why I said I don’t really see him as a action star with no classics 2 minimum for meWhich is good but those movies arnt just the same as fallout or maverick or predator or T2
