Interesting that two gold medal winners (Duplantis and the Italian 100m dude) were eligible to compete for the US… US losing its pull?
Italian breh has no ties to the US other than being born here - he was raised in Italy from infancy. Duplantis has the juice in Sweden - a well known athlete. Almost no one in the US knew his name until today. Why would he compete for a country that doesn’t care about his craft unless it’s adding to medal counts?

Italian dude wouldn’t have made it on past performance. The Swedish dude made a promise to his mother.
In addition, that’s a bad MF in your AVI

Duplantis is a borderline god in US track and field damn near two years

That’s for people who know track. It’s the difference between being Kris Middleton vs Lebron James. One is a household name and the other is someone fans of the sport know

track is not a celebrity sport in this country anymore, especially not pole vaulting

The thing is, developed countries have the privilege to manage the condition from an early age with doctors and psychologues, while in poor countries they cannot afford the treatment and let male features develop too much.

So you basically saying that only the poor intersex athletes need to be banned from competition. Which as a practical matter means almost entirely African women.

I'm still in awe how Hassan fell down in her heat and got up and ran everybody down and won, then won the whole thing in the finals for gold.

To be the heat she fell in was 1500m, the finals she won was the 5000m (which she had already ran the heat for earlier in the week). She has the semis for the 1500m tomorrow and then the 1500m Finals and 10,000m Finals after that.
