When I was bidding as a teenager in the mid and late 00s was the first time I can strongly remember older cats saying this shyt to us. And I'm not even talking about just dudes way older than us---->some were, but some of the guys saying this shyt about us were only around 7-10 years older than me. I'm 17, 18, 19, 20, some of these guys weren't even 30 yet

"we used to fight back in the day, yall nikkas only want to shoot"...
"Used to be real consequences for snitches, you young nikkas friends with the rats"...
"Yall done brought all this borderline homo acceptance shyt into the streets, if we ever found out one of our homies was on some gay shyt it was over for him"...
"Yall don't even understand the game yall playing, when we grew up we listened to the OGs and knew what we were doing"...
this is just what I can remember, I'm positive I've forgotten some more shyt. And as a kid, you haven't lived enough to call bullshyt, not when you're literally a teenager hearing this, so I heard it all and tried to distance myself from cats my age at times, to appeal to a select few older cats...
It doesn't take growing much older to realize the error in this, and the funny thing is once I hit the doorstep of 30, and FOR SURE now on the other side of 30, you find people your age, civilians too especially, who shyt on the younger era. I've had this exact convo with different parties at least twice in the last year. And I'm the only muhfukka who has the perspective I have;
Which is, aint nothing new under the sun. The technology changes but people are people, young adults generally concern themselves with blazing their own paths, so they aren't looking up to old heads. My grandma's generation said it about my mom's generation ("kids today have no respect") back in the 70s and 80s; her parents generation said it about hers befire that, and so on and so forth...
Each rising generation benefits from social, cultural, and technological advances that the era(s) prior never had, and I think how these advancements are integrated into daily life causes muhfukkas to the youngins as more hard-headed, when they aren't. Thee cats 10-20 years younger than me are blazing they own trail just like I did at the same age, all you can do is hope the kids you love survive whatever endeavor they on to reap the maturity and wisdom from life...
Always funny when cats in one breath talk about how wide open the gunplay and drugs was in the 80s and 90s but then in the next breath said we of my era were scared to fight and too trigger happy----->and now nikkas my age in the early and mid 30s saying the same bullshyt about the young boys, exact same shyt
. We were taking fades in 2005 and 2010, these nikkas today just wanna shoot...
