lets not forget, In season 1. Shane told rick dont leave the camp for the guns, rick leaves anyway and how many ppl died that night? andrea sister would probably still be alive if they all stayed.

Shane told rick sophia was dead
Shane showed herschel they are not ppl anymore.
Rick would be dead if Shane didnt cover his hospital door with the bed.
Rick risked everybody life by not telling them they are infected.

Shane forced everybody to carry guns on the farm again. if he didnt they would of all been dead when the walkers came to the farm.

and now Shane got himself shank....then shot

While Rick was sleeping, Shane got everybody out of the city right as shyt hit the fan. You think being in the outskirts is bad. Imagine a city full of 700,000 walkers coming from every street. He shouldve left Lori & Carl ass in the shrubbery. Ungrateful bytches

Shane ended up being right about damn near everything...

only because the show made him that way, Rick in the comic 10x more rough than Shane, shane died early in the comic, Rick was going goon early and the prison and the gov made him a beast.

Shane also would have killed Rick , dale , Herschel not to mention they didn't want him to be leader . Rick gave them the option leave or follow his orders . Shane being right about some stuff doesn't make him a good leader maybe if he helped Rick instead of simping things would of worked out . But Shane left to his own devices most likely turns into a governor type leader

shane may have been right about certain things, but he wouldn't have made an effective leader. rick is outright smarter than shane, and has demonstrated as much several times on the show.

edit: keep in mind shane was under the illusion this whole thing would die down in a couple of weeks. he also wanted to head towards fort benning, which is overran by zombies.shane also would have died @ the school if otis didn't save him twice.

here's a good example of why shane would be a bad leader. when they went to drop off the injured kid in that warehouse area. zombies started pouring out of the window after shane broke it. rick covered himself with a dead zombie. shane, for some odd reason, locked himself into a bus. this is who you want as a leader?

a highly militant town of "shanes" that gets overran by zombies. you need people with compassion to lead. that's why rick was the sheriff. if you were in a zombie apocalypse, who would you prefer as your group leader? a dude who would shoot you and leave you for dead? or someone who would search for you for weeks even though you're probably dead.

a highly militant town of "shanes" that gets overran by zombies. you need people with compassion to lead. that's why rick was the sheriff. if you were in a zombie apocalypse, who would you prefer as your group leader? a dude who would shoot you and leave you for dead? or someone who would search for you for weeks even though you're probably dead.

IMO both alternatives are stupid. You need a realistic balance to be a leader.

check my edit, shane was only the leader of the group for about 3 weeks to a month. ricks been the leader for over a year.

and we don't even know how large the group was until rick got there, so what's your point?

Buford, Georgia or a city with 500,000 people running frantically everywhere like fresh meat. i wonder how that would work out for you the show will never show it but, i can imagine that shyt was a blood bath. bruh, think about it, first week or two. most people are still alive, or have bites. they don't know what's actually going on yet. the next year = most people are zombies.
