The common belief is that ghosts to appear to kids, in real life, in different forms. Because children are more susceptible to those influences while adults are less likely to believe in those manifestations Bc our minds are more closed off. I think this part is playing off those concepts. Dogs and kids have a sense when their is an entity or presence in the room; they’re more sensitive to that. That’s the reason you see little kids in most paranormal movies - think The Sixth Sense etc. Children are receptors, even for demonic entities. Her father (Terry) exposed her to it, (as you will see in a the next episodes), that’s why she knows so much.
