I enjoyed the first half even though all the meta/real life references were kind of tripping me up (Lana Wachowski really didn’t want to make this movie). The second half was a little hard to follow though. Not something I’ll rewatch but I thought it was fine.

I have a hard time believing Laurence Fishburne won’t make an appearance. I’m hoping/expecting he shows up.

This was my biggest issue so I’ll spoiler it for brehs who haven’t seen it yet:

How the fukk did they not bring back Laurence Fishburne and OG Agent Smith? Not even for cameos???



I can’t understand how we had Jada walking with a fake limp and the old French dude literally dressed like a homeless man, yet they just left out two of the most iconic characters from the trilogy. They really killed Morpheus off screen. Their replacements did fine but come on, with all the fan service and references to the originals how do you not find a way to bring them back in some capacity besides just clips from the other films?

Just finished watching it, avoided this thread on purpose until I did.

IMO it was subpar as fukk.

Every action scene felt slow and as fukk, the fight choreography felt like they had a low budget to work with or something. The music during the fights was basic as hell, and didn't get me pumped whatsoever, or hyped about what was happening, or about to. They over did the whole paying homage to the older classic movie scenes, so much so it felt like exact replicas used as filler to further this mess of a story. They made Morpheaus a metrosexual, and turned Agent Smith into Ryan reynolds, completely destroying what made the original characters seem like stoic badasses. The popping vibrant colors for some reason, didnt fit either, felt like I was watching the intro to a k-pop video most of the time. Transformers have now made their way into the matrix, got'cha. I don't know how to explain it, but the cgi felt amateurish.

I know im missing some gripes I had, so ill be back later.

One thing that completely killed the vibe for me was

The camera effects. It reminded me of those YouTube pet projects from the late 2000s, where it was all blurry and jarring like shyt is popping off, in reality it's a cheap effect to make the video have somewhat legs to work with the action that's trying to take place.

That and the fact that there's a fukking award on Neo's shelf talking about the VGA's like dude stepped out of the Cyberpunk reveal to do the damn movie.

If u enjoyed Reloaded don't let others opinions sway u from seeing the film

Just watched this and it's honestly 6.5 -7.5 out 10,
While the CGI effects wasn't the best, the storyline and the spin of the matrix as a game was interesting, connecting Indian guys daughter , multiple references to the original was nice

I honestly don't get alot of the hate in this thread, could of been better? Of course but it was easily better than the Matrix 3....

Yes, movie was easily one of the better sequels to be put out...

I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. But then again, I loved the OG sequels.

I feel the same way, while the sequels were on no way on the first matrix level all 3 movies afterwards definitely expanded and opened up the matrix lore

Are you really harping on the CGI? While I agree with assessment, the CGI in this movie no way took away from the story, reloaded and revolutions had scenes with way worse CGI, albeit scenes with better CGI as well
