I feel like De Niro's performance is really underappreciated in this movie. From everything I've heard about the real-life Frank, he played him to a tee. The best acting in the entire movie was De Niro on the phone with Hoffa's wife. When he had to show emotion, he showed nobody can fukk with him.

Would have liked to see either Pacino or Pesci get the Oscar but they're splitting votes and it looks like Brad Pitt is poised to win it (which I don't have a issue with, Cliff Booth is one of QT's best characters)
Pacino was better than DeNiro in this. Playing a guy with no personality is not that interesting, at this length especially the last hour it can get boring.

Fell asleep watching this last night. How many mafia worship movies is this guy gonna make? And he has the nerve to complain about all the superhero movies :deadmanny:

Used to love movies like this back in the 90s and 2000s. Watched Godfather,Casino, The Departed, Goodfellas, Donnie Brasco, Scarface, The Sopranos etc. Couldn't get enough.

Now i'm thinking this genre needs to be retired. At this point i'm as familiar with 50's music as people who grew up in the 50's. And they still using all the same old ass actors :dead:

You sound simple minded as fukk :dead:

the phone call to Jimmy's wife was incredible acting :wow: also notice how his speech got increasingly worse as he gets older through the movie

Pesci & Pacino deserve their props no doubt but De Niro was no slouch in this

Complaining about Scorsese doing too many mob films is like complaining about Dr. Dre producing too many gangsta rap records.

When you are the face of a genre, you are actually doing your core fanbase a service.

So many artists have the “You like my old shyt, buy my old albums” mentality nowadays. Which to me is prettying arrogant and dismissive.

The Irishman is a 3 and a half hour love letter to his core fanbase. It’s not perfect but I appreciate the effort, especially coming from a 75 year old man who has all the money in the world and doesn’t have to do shyt.

The Irishman was way better than expected. One of my favorite Scorsese movies. :salute: to one of the GOAT filmmakers. 9/10.

Only thing that was :smh: was that Sheeran beating up that dude in the streets. That was Dolemite status. :russ:

Breh. I've seen it twice, and I cracked up at that scene both times.

The way homie double pumps on that struggle kick at the end. :mjlol:

The funny part is mob movies only make up a small percentage of Scorsese's filmography lol.
