What?! The movie should have ended maybe 10 minutes after Pacino died. The rest is some of the must boring story telling ever. The last 40 minutes was good as fukk.

Yeah, that would be interesting. But I think the whole point of the modern mafia is to stay as low key as possible. Consulting or talking about what they are up to now would be counterproductive to that end.I'd love to see a modern day Mob flick...doesn't have to be based on a true story or anything. I'd like to see it based in the rebuilding years of the mob after the heyday ending in the late 80s/early 90s. How they've rebuilt after 9/11 with less scrutiny from LE and how the current environment is with diminished power.
But I agree there's not much of a need for another GoodFellas part 6 with do-wop depicting the 50s-70s
This is exactly my point but in reverse, he's been doing the same formula 30 years, and complaining about one that's only been going for 8?
yeah in goodfelles Deniro is italian, in casino he's jewish, and in irishman he's irish. big variance right there. at least marvel actually casts other races of people in it's films. Scorcese would've had deniro playing Black Panther and set in 1960's brooklyn8 years but 3 movies a year. All the exact same from A to Z. Aint shyt different but the name of the superhero.
Even most of his mob movies vary in style and story 3
Scorsese is allergic to Black actors or something.yeah in goodfelles Deniro is italian, in casino he's jewish, and in irishman he's irish. big variance right there. at least marvel actually casts other races of people in it's films. You answer that question, i wasn't the one who said he had these varying types of angles for storytelling. Ya'll did. To me, it all looks the same. I'm just saying that i'm not tryin to replace superhero movies with more scarface remakes. If you can come up with something new, then i'll listen. But i already had a lifetime of mafiosos getting whacked. He's Irish in GoodFellas...
just being contrarian...which of Marty's films would you like to see more black actors in? He hasn't exactly covered many topics/characters/stories that involve the black community. He had Anthony Anderson in The Departed...so really I could only see him casting black actors as cops/FBI agents unless he does more films that cover topics involving the black community.
Scorcese is at his best when depicting the crime genre...if he does some BMF film, then ppl are going to bytch that he's exploiting the stories of black people and how he doesn't understand the community so why is he making films about it.
I like almost all his stuff so the lack of Black people isn't any type of deal breaker. But you got to admit their omission in most of his movies is glaring. He's Irish in GoodFellas...

Well considering his penchent for making mafia movies, he could easily did a film like American Gangster if he wanted. But that's not what i saying here. I'm just calling out the hypocrisy of labeling things formulaic, when he does it too. and has been doing it for longer.I like almost all his stuff so the lack of Black people isn't any type of deal breaker. Casino damn near a romance movie
Are Eyepatch dude, hawk man, and black panther not all black in the comics? So they casting people who look like the characters their based on, what a marvel idea
Same thing Marty doing. He doing films based on real people, he sposed to cast Henry Hill as a brotha huh?
Nobody is forcing him to make every other film about Irish Catholics or Italians. Dude aint even irish his own self he just does that cause his friend De Niro is irish. He could do the same for his black friends.Casino damn near a romance movie

Tarantino does it just fine. Does he get a pass just because his mom is one of the thousands of groupies WIlt Chamberlain smashed in the 60s?That's a point I'm trying to make too...Marty's not covered topics/stories that would fit for black actors.
What story of a black person could Scorsese realistically cover without it coming across as disingenuous or 'doing it to appease the liberal media?' IMHO if he made BMF the movie, hella ppl gonna bytch that he's depicting black people as criminals.
