It was okay, but not great. The lineup in this movie was incredible, but that's about it. Some decent scenes, some laughable (for instance De Niro's kicking outside of the grocery), at times kind of boring, the Hoffa killing was also meh..the movie "Hoffa" with Nicholson had a way better ending :yeshrug:

I give it a 7/10 and that's mostly because we get to see movie legends in this.

Fell asleep watching this last night. How many mafia worship movies is this guy gonna make? And he has the nerve to complain about all the superhero movies :deadmanny:

Used to love movies like this back in the 90s and 2000s. Watched Godfather,Casino, The Departed, Goodfellas, Donnie Brasco, Scarface, The Sopranos etc. Couldn't get enough.

Now i'm thinking this genre needs to be retired. At this point i'm as familiar with 50's music as people who grew up in the 50's. And they still using all the same old ass actors :dead:

I'd love to see a modern day Mob flick...doesn't have to be based on a true story or anything. I'd like to see it based in the rebuilding years of the mob after the heyday ending in the late 80s/early 90s. How they've rebuilt after 9/11 with less scrutiny from LE and how the current environment is with diminished power.

But I agree there's not much of a need for another GoodFellas part 6 with do-wop depicting the 50s-70s

Breh this is not a masterpiece it's a tired formula.

Mafia themed movie
set in the past
Starring Robert Deniro and Joe Pesci
Directed by Martin Scorscese
Intermitent Character Voiceovers or Reality Tv style interviews for Exposition.

Which movie am i describing? Goodfellas, The Irishman, or Casino?

:russell: Only 5 of the 26 films he’s directed are mob movies. Time to come up with a new shytty critique
6 if you include boardwalk empire.
And to me thats alot of films based on the same exact premise from a single person. And you also have to keep in mind all the other mafia films these actors have done that aren't directed by him.It all feels dated now. I don't need anymore Deniro, Pesci, Scorsese or Pacino mob films. We gotta resort to deaging now? :mjlol: Tells you this shyt is getting forced.

This is exactly my point but in reverse, he's been doing the same formula 30 years, and complaining about one that's only been going for 8?

No one feels the need to put those on a 'cinema!' pedestal like it is superior type of film making either. :francis:
Tony Stark has displayed more personality in almost any 5 minute span of his MCU appearances than DeNiro did in this entire over long movie. lol
