where the lie at tho :yeshrug:

All up and through that motherfukka. I dont even know where to begin  . The shyt y'all on in here? Can't even call this shyt recency bias; It's on some other shyt. I think that the majority of yall mf's had ya minds made up the min you heard the names Scorcese, Pacino, Deniro, Pesci, and and bout had a damn orgasm :laff: . This movie was by no mens BAD, but yall sitting around here having a circle joke talking about instant classic, masterpiece, better than Goodfellas & Casino, best mob movie of all time .

First off, I dont care how many times you watch something, you need to let it sit with you for awhile to determine these kind of things if you gave that same energy to the other aforementioned classics. Secondly, you can revere these acting legends because thats what they are, but their abilities in THIS movie were lacking and flawed on numerous occasions whether it was movement, facial expressions or lethargic performance at times. And story wise, MS round the midway point clearly had bit off more than he could chew at his age trying to do the deepest of character studies/reflections on two characters and it didnt have anything to do with pace. I could keep going but like I said, nikkas already had their minds made up before they logged into Netflix or walked into the theater.

It was a good homage movie, that's it. Nothing more or less. :yeshrug:

How so? I was excited as hell just like everyone else when I first heard the news a year or however long ago. And I went in with reasonable expectations given everybody involved and their body of work as a collective. I put respect on all they names but I'm not gonna allow my excitement to push some confirmation bias on the extreme end of the spectrum one way or another. Like I said, I didn't say the movie was bad, but I'm also not gonna sit here and say that shyt was as good as or better than his past work cuz its not. I dont go into movies or shows looking to shyt on em nor crown them the best thing ever. Me saying the movie was good shows I had my mind made up? Lol

I'm from SWP. Went to Bartram. Went to Temple for undergrad. My HS football coach was Roscoe Natale, son of Philly Mob Boss Ralph Natale.

All i know is Boy Meets World was in philly . and nicky scarfo was a bad mofo.

I fjnally jatched the irishman tonight. I had read the heard you paint houses book in 2014 so i was familiar with the story. De niro did look old aa fukk but still did a decent preformance. Pesci was great. Pacino was pretty good as hoffa, Everybody Loves Raymond as a lawyer :russ: coli favorite Action Bronson as a casket salesman. I kept hoping Ray Liotta would make a cameo...

plan to watch again over the weekend.

You know thats just like your opinion right? Not facts

Its also a fact that more people love this movie than not. And A LOT are calling it scorceses best work. That opinion for sure outweighs yours :yeshrug:

Not fair to say yet IMO.. Ive watched it once but i give it a solid 9.8/10...Ive seen Every movie you listed except Shutter island more than 3 times...goodfellas and casino way more..

But im not mad at people saying that its a masterpiece, i can see why. Pacino, Deniro, Pesci, and Graham all gave top notch perfomances..i expect all of them to get nominated for oscars..a lot of memorable scenes..I thought i would watch it in parts but i sat thru the whole thing in one sitting. Im going to watch it again this weekend

I don't do rankings like that a first week a movie is out.. it takes time but I do think The Irishman is an obvious instant classic. Where it falls in Scorsese's catalog only time will tell with more rewatches etc..

It also don't really matter because Scorsese got so many fukkin classics it wouldn't hurt to say this is only the 5th or 6th best movie of his :mjlol:

Ya??! Out of ALL the posters who commented in this thread, how many people said it was better than Casino or Goodfellas?

I thoroughly enjoyed it, was it without its flaws? Not at all. Was it better than Goodfellas or Casino? Hell no!

But it leaves something to be said when 3 dudes pushing 80 can display flashes of acting brilliance and show they still have something left in the tank. Particularly when a lot of people can't even wipe their own asses at that age.

It’s better than Casino...yea I said it!

When casino dropped MFers complained it’s was just GoodFellas part 2 in the desert...so when Marty switches it up they complain it’s not enough like GoodFellas and casino
