shyt was cool.
Scorsese having smoke for Marvel, when he used the same company that they use to Antman the shyt out of his leads is :mjlol:though.

De Niro's old man movement in the scene where he was kicking the shyt out of the grocery store owner had me :picard:

I can't put my finger on why, but this definitely felt like an end of an era film to me. Beyond De Niro, Pacino and Pesci's age - I think it was the fact that some of the characters died in real life in the recent past. Maybe because the story of Hoffa's death is always portrayed as one of the last great American mysteries in pop culture and this film offers an answer from a director who people trust with Mafia stories.

Anyway - I fuxed with it. :ehh:

I think it feels like an end of an Era deliberately. The way it ends and particularly the last shot and line left me thinking this is scorcese telling both the story of the Irishman and his film career as it relates to mob movies.

That's the vibe I got from it.

'Wolf Of Wall Street' felt like he'd found a new type of mob movie, on account of Wall Street in the 80's basically being legal organized crime in the wrong hands.

I would like to see one more Scorsese flick with Leo and Jonah Hill though :ehh:

Nah, wasn't "us"

The movie is based off Frank Sheeran's death bed confessions made to the author of the book we used to paint houses.
:usure:So where was the author in the movie? Why didnt they have any lines?

He was def talking to us just like at the end of Goodfellas when Ray talks to the camera or Casino when Ace is retelling us the story throughout the movie. That's Martin's whole style of storytelling.

This was a good ass movie:whew:
Serves as an educational piece to the Teamsters/Hoffa like Casino did for Vegas/the skim.
I don't know what Scorcese has in his future but this is likely the curtain call on his mob flicks :mjcry:
He made sure to drop every name he could from Giancana, Marcello, Gallo, Columbo, Bonanno, Salerno, Trafficante, Bruno...
I still hope someone can do a legit Outfit movie or series.
Seems the folks more educated on the story appreciated it differently.
I got no gripes except for a crippled Deniro puttin the beats on anybody:mjlol:
Pesci was top notch.

It's just different breh.... Scorsese is a brilliant director but he's also a guy who grew up in that era and around these mob dudes so he just understands it differently. He touches on little details like how to chop garlic and shyt like that that nobody else is going to focus on or pay much attention to..

there's a level of authenticity that only Scorsese can provide. I think this is the end of mob films... a great way to go out.

Idk why y’all didn’t like it I thought it was a masterpiece. Scorsese took his time and told a great story. The screenplay was awesome. Deniro and Pesci are such a great team. Old skool tough guys yet gentlemen.
im waiting for multiple Oscar noms.

You won't be waiting long, I'm seeing like 7-8 nominations :whew: Scorsese did it again

I wouldn't say it's that drastic. How Hoffa died and the exact events that led to his death is unknown. All we had was a bunch of theories and this was one

Exactly. That was my problem with Zodiac. Fincher is a legend in his own right and the movie is great but I watch it for near three hours and there's no real conclusion.

Scorsese gave us the likely conclusion to the Hoffa story.... Maybe it's wrong but to say it's a "made up story" is some BS... it's the most plausible theory.
