Watched The Irishman with the fam tonight. A fukking classic in every sense :wow: :wow:

Beautifully shot, very well acted.. the music...

The tension in one of the final scenes was a work of art. I love how Scorsese showed how all the politics worked with all the moving chess pieces, right up my alley..

muthafukkas selling weapons to Cuba and shyt... the mention about the Casinos going up in Vegas with the money from the Teamsters, a lil call back to Casino there.

Great movie

That's the entire point of the IRISHMAN. He lead a legendary gangsta life, but even HOFFA is pretty forgotten by this generation when he once was the most recognizable person in the nation behind the President at one point then what is he? Especially when he's the last one living.

What they said wasn't an understatement. Hoffa and the Teamsters union were the most powerful entity in the nation. Over the last 30+ years the government has chipped off little pieces of unions brick by brick... they tryna eliminate them entirely and once that happens... :manny:

You don't have to know who Hoffa is but you should know what unions mean.

It was really good. A little slow at the beginning, but picked up steam towards the middle.

Pacino, Pesci, and Deniro all killed it. Very different performances, but all played excellently. The supporting cast was also top notch.

The film crammed in a lot of stuff, both in terms of the plot and the acting. It’s going to take another viewing or so to really unpack everything.

The Diaspora
Elvis and the beatles are still remembered though and hoffa was as famous as they were
Elvis and Beatles art is what keeps them alive

Hoffa doesn’t have that

the one thing he does have has been attacked by state governments for 30+ years

Out here in my damn drawls
6.5 out of 10 (8 out of 10 between Hoffa's introduction to his death)

Why didn't they just go the mini-series route?

They were introducing characters that disappeared 2 minutes later and I couldn't get the full weight of their parts

Crazy Joe and his shenanigans could've been a nice 2-3 episode arc

Crazy Joe: "We're all friends :aicmon:?"

Frank: "Yeah....Happy Birthday  "

Crazy Joe: "fukk outta here :camby::martin:"
