A lot of ppl don't realize that like 90% of all media, especially shyt built within studio systems is essentially propaganda and advertising. Time and time again actual historians will tell and show you that the past was often way more diverse and surprising than is often portrayed.

Very true. Not to derail the thread but, that's kind of the job of the people who is in the position of power, societally. It's pretty much their job to lie and represent themselves as the ultimate paragon of all significant aspects of history. It's a form of empowerment to their own people and gives them a false sense of importance. If they told the truth they would compromise their image to the benefit of ours. All of Europe was once predominantly black for thousands of years before whites eventually rose to power there. Benjamin Franklin himself speaks on this in an essay that he wrote a long time ago. But you'll never see it mentioned in the American school system.

I thought it was a really good, entertaining watch. Love the seriousness but also the comedy.

the last scene when everyone rides off, who is that person watching them on the last cut? Does it set up a sequel?

This was a good movie… I wish they would shown idris in the flash back scene. That woulda really tied the movie down… also perhaps his story being shown… or why he was so notorious… with that being said I give it an 8/10 my girl gave it a 8.25/10 probably second highest movie she’s rated behind Shang chi

This movie wasn't even "woke" per se. They stay mad.

Right, it had a couple little "jabs" but it was hardly anything super on the nose. But with cacs it don't take much. You have certain a element of them who just don't like to see black people portrayed in a positive light. And this movie was objectively well-made, with a predominantly Black cast. Truthfully, the movie ain't even for white people if we being real.

I welcome a sequel tho, Trudy was one of my favorite characters in this.

All the characters in the show were pretty interesting man. They all had charisma and flavor.

Cherokee bill was low-key one of my favorites. Dude played sinister, unpredictable, and poetically articulate third in command very well. Cuffee was great too.

Westerns should be shot on film not digital

The cinematography is supposed to be in service to the story, not the reverse. For whatever reason, internet cinephiles believe otherwise. You guys want everything to look as if it is an art film. That is one of the worst concepts to arise from internet cinephile circles

Oh, please. Scorcese and Eastwood have their characters throw out all types of racial slurs, but some crackas being called devils in the 1800s is supposed to have people clutch their pearls? Get the hell out of here with that. And anyone who uses "woke" as a way to criticize anything needs to be ignored
