5 hits? Pillow hands...
The arena scene doesn’t work cause it turns Riddler from a targeted villain to a mass murder. It’s one thing if he was killing the new mayor but that wouldn’t require a team of assassins and flooding an entire city.I really don't understand the discontent with the arena scene that so many people have. It felt necessary to me for several reasons. It was the Riddler's grand finale, he was building up to something. In that way too it felt like such a comic book scene. It was also important that Batman saw how widespread and damaging his image was. He was evoking not just the Riddler but many others to be violent in the name of vengeance. It also gave him a chance to transcend past vengeance and help those who vulnerable in another way. I also love how it brought out the true character of others like the new mayor and catwoman. I think that helped Bruce too. To see there was still hope and care that hadn't been tainted. Ha, I guess I liked this part more than I realized. His ending monologue about becoming something more wouldn't have hit as hard or true without him going through that crisis.
Oh, one other thing I really liked. They acknowledged just how weird it is for a dude dressed in a bat suit to be walking around a crime scene interacting with people. I actually love how all the cops are like " is he doing here?" whenever Gordon brings him around.

Did anyone else wish Falcone was telling the truth about Thomas Wayne? IDK, I just thought it would've been more interesting if Bruce found out that his father really wasn't as perfect as he thought he was and had to struggle to still be a symbol of hope and not lose his ideals in spite of that. Don't get me wrong, the hospital scene with Alfred defending Thomas Wayne's honor was powerful but it also felt like a bit of a cop out.
I couldn't imagine being a cop and having this freak escorted around crime scenes in real lifeOh, one other thing I really liked. Its more than likely going to be its own thing like the Nolan trilogy
Exactly. Joker was attacking everyone. His war escalated from one side of the mob to the mob itself to the cops to the citizens. His final trump card was getting at Batman through Dent. It's weird. I thought it was a great sequence on its own. But to me it was so tonally different than what we got before with this tight, film noir detective story, that it was kind of jarring to see this huge action setpiece. With the Dark Knight, the entire movie was this gradual buildup of tension and escalation so the big moments in the 3rd act felt earned and connected. I didn't quite get that with the Batman.
If you know you knowEiza Gonzalez

That doesn’t wash. He lets the actual mob laundering the money and corrupting the city go to attack politicians who (at least one) was actually trying to do something good?No... because...
All of the politicians are there... heavy police presence. The Riddler wanted CHANGE in Gotham. That's how to do it by eliminating everyone at that event
The rest of the people there are just collateral damage..
I think he only cared about people that directly involved or could be responsible for his type of upbringing. He went for Bruce because Thomas was already dead, he went for Falconi because he was involved from the start, Penguin was a worker. That doesn’t wash. He lets the actual mob laundering the money and corrupting the city go to attack politicians who (at least one) was actually trying to do something good?
He was willing to kill Bruce because of his father but let’s Falcone’s right hand man Penguin live?
And again, those collateral damage citizens, were the people hurt by the people he was unmasking.
He stopped targeting in favor of just random killing.
He’s not changing anything except the population count.
