Think he might say it’s too close to the goblin. If he’s in another comic book flick, he’d probably want to play something completely different

See WB apparently doesn’t want another jack nicholson/Batman situation where they pay someone that much money. No bags being thrown. Jonah walked cause they wouldn’t pay him what he wanted. Doubt Dafoe would do it for less.
Nicholson fleeced them and it was worth it at the time but I don’t think so anymore.

Levitt is an inspired choice. And don't be shocked, IF, THE JOKER is in Reeves Batman trilogy, that Levitt is the choice. He could definitely pull it off. Also, his age range isn't far from Pattinson's.
