No Whammies!!
He wasn’t unassisted to be fair. He isn’t CEO without Shivs help and lord knows she’s gonna let him know that.

hugo was also probably the BIGGEST loser on this episode. he's gonna get fired, and I doubt he even gets a golden parachute like frank, karl and gerri.

Lowkey, Carolina little dagger to ensure Hugo:laff: got cut was prophetic since he was so thirsty for her spot:banderas::umad:

Something I saw on Twitter that I hadn't thought of.
When Tom walked in he asked where Karolina was. This is hinting that Shiv had already talked to Tom BEFORE she even showed up for the board meeting.

After sleeping on it, I really REALLY don’t like Shiv but man Tom came up something serious :whoo: IRL, this man is essentially the CEO of NBC/CBS/Fox. Regardless of what happens, he’s cemented career wise from this point forward.

#KingTom :wow: May his reign be blessed :wow:

This is how you do it GOT
Bro might end up in prison. Lukas is worse than Logan when it comes to doing things the “right way”. Look at these Forbes 30 under 30 new tech billionaires that end up in prison. He already has funny money from the numbers in India. He’s gonna do some reckless shyt and throw Tom to the wolves. It’s bound to happen

The fact that we had to wait this long for a general scene of sibling affection that wasn't in some way transactional is :wow:

It made me think back to Roman ripping the check up in front of the kid in the first episode. He was so jealous of a regular functional family that it was all that he could do to make himself feel better.

The fact that their mom has nothing for them - no edible food. no good advice - nothing outside of a business proposal is some :francis: shyt. Makes you realize why they turned out how they did.

The reactions watching the dinner party video - one of the few times when Logan wasn't The Devil Incarnate - was telling too.

Tom dropping a nuke on Shiv's whole world was :ohhh: to watch.

Kendall having a body on him came up again. The "which one?" bit made me want to ask a thousand questions, already knowing the probable answer. :picard:

The descent into violence :whoo:

The Disgusting Brothers in this bytch :blessed:

The closing ether of Shiv having to spend her life in the shadow of the throne, looking like the supportive spouse, when she had designs on ruling is just :wow:

Kendall by his own admission, is probably not long for this world.

The show as a whole was tremendous :obama:

The 718
Toms character has moved on from the relationship in that way. The marriage is basically a facade and Tom is fine with that. Shiv trying to get Tom back when she was on the jet and Tom saying “yeah I dunno Shiv :yeshrug:“ is just another indicator that Tom only allowed himself to me manipulated before to get what he wants out of it, because that’s his natural personality. Today a ton of shyt a longs he gets what he wants. He told Mattson that when they had a heart to heart. That isn’t manipulation at all. It’s self deprecating to an end. It’s allowing her to think she was manipulating him because she can’t really. He did so because he loved her. But now the last 2 seasons have shown that Tom is 100% comfortable with caring about Shiv but not being with her. Especially after he released the flutes on her when they were on the terrace. The dynamic has changed, Shiv knows she loves Tom and she tries to convince him to give in to her, and Tom has repeatedly cooked her for it this season. Shiv is Tom from the first 2 seasons. Playing off their relationship to try to angle for position and power.

Tom 100% won. He is the CEO of Waystar/Gojo, he has secured his money (that talk with Shiv about money), he has Greg and if he wants, he has Shiv. If anybody won, it’s Tom.
And even though Tom is basically a puppet and can get the boot at any time, that's a helluva golden parachute and once you're a CEO you're gonna just keep failing upward. If you wash out, another company will gladly let you grift them.

Disgraced Frank founder Charlie Javice has joined the likes of Elizabeth Holmes and Sam Bankman-Fried on a growing list of founders to be lavished with honors by the financial news outlet Forbes – only to later face criminal fraud charges. “The Forbes 30 Under 30 have collectively raised $5.3B in funding,” tech investor Chris Bakke tweeted on Tuesday. “The Forbes 30 Under 30 have also been arrested for frauds and scams worth over $18.5B. Incredible track record.”

No one actually won if you think about it other than Lukkas. Even Tom gotta look over his shoulder at Lukkas who wants to bang shiv whos in a loveless marriage.:dead:
I don’t even think lukkas wants to fukk shiv. It was a power move to see if Tom really was as spineless as he wanted his ceo to be. Difference between shiv changing her own ideology and begging to be a cep vs Tom who basically was operating like a ceo this entire season running atn AND displaying that he is built to be a pain sponge is why Lukas chose him over shiv

Shiv has never ran shyt. Tom has and was the type of guy even Logan would have appointed if he had the chance that’s why when Logan died Tom was there and his own kids were off still trying to fukk with him

She just as terrible as the rest
I read that Jesse Armstrong piece at the Guardian and I am glad I missed reading it before the finale because Armstrong basically lays out that Tom was going to survive and thrive by the end of the series.

I do think he still wants Shiv's love and knows he's never going to get it. He's trapped in a marriage of convenience, but he definitely didn't want that if you look at the first 2.5 seasons.

He flipped his fate, and power dynamic

Tom called shiv out, shiv low key liked that

Shiv thought she was better but she wasn’t

Shiv knew she’d never get any power unless she backed Tom, she fukked her brother, and decided to push further in a marriage that Tom no longer really was down to be in it

I don’t get the Shiv hate. Especially after the shyt Rome and Kendall pulled.. fukking the deal and keeping her in the dark, letting the country become a fascist state just to keep seats at the top etc.. They’re all fukked up, and none of them can run it solo, but all three together kinda balances it out.

Tom won, but Shiv is carrying his child and is basically gonna be backseat driving while runs the shop. And I don’t think Tom is over Shiv.. yeah, yeah, the balcony scene… but that’s just some shyt he needed to get off his chest.. he still loves her.

Gonna miss this show.. easily the best thing on TV right now.

Right. When she went to go talk to Sandy everything changed. The look on her face when she was coming back lets me know she put everything in motion already. Idk why exactly though. Was it really just seeing him at the desk that detested her that much?

This. She's gonna be miserable. Folks are saying she chose Tom to keep some power, but that last shot of them showed that the power dynamic has flipped.
I'm a woman, and I've always maintained that the Skylar hate is very much unwarranted, but Shiv? I haaaaate her. She deserves all the vitriol.

I don't believe for one second that there was any morality or strategy to her decision. I think it was just plain old spite.

There wasn't, but if there was it wouldn't be true to her character. Shiv isn’t hateful or spiteful, she's just SUPER impulsive. She's always changed her mind on a dime, it’s why she has no friends and can't be in a loving relationship. She's always searching for the "what else".

When it comes to her turn to vote, she decides there and then she can't pull the trigger for Kendall. But she doesn’t know exactly why so she goes thru a rolodex of reasons on the spot: Kendall's too self-centered, he's not capable, he killed a guy, she finds him annoying.

Kendall is a spineless, bytchmade fukk, so he can't help but implode (his dialogue devolves so quickly during the scene, the writing is just top notch) until he practically guides Shiv (and Roman) to the inevitable total collapse.
