No one actually won if you think about it other than Lukkas. Even Tom gotta look over his shoulder at Lukkas who wants to bang shiv whos in a loveless marriage.:dead:
Toms character has moved on from the relationship in that way. The marriage is basically a facade and Tom is fine with that. Shiv trying to get Tom back when she was on the jet and Tom saying “yeah I dunno Shiv :yeshrug:“ is just another indicator that Tom only allowed himself to me manipulated before to get what he wants out of it, because that’s his natural personality. Today a ton of shyt a longs he gets what he wants. He told Mattson that when they had a heart to heart. That isn’t manipulation at all. It’s self deprecating to an end. It’s allowing her to think she was manipulating him because she can’t really. He did so because he loved her. But now the last 2 seasons have shown that Tom is 100% comfortable with caring about Shiv but not being with her. Especially after he released the flutes on her when they were on the terrace. The dynamic has changed, Shiv knows she loves Tom and she tries to convince him to give in to her, and Tom has repeatedly cooked her for it this season. Shiv is Tom from the first 2 seasons. Playing off their relationship to try to angle for position and power.

Tom 100% won. He is the CEO of Waystar/Gojo, he has secured his money (that talk with Shiv about money), he has Greg and if he wants, he has Shiv. If anybody won, it’s Tom.

'Juadas in the room':banderas:

...after that cold line by Mattson:fire: to sellout Greg (failing upwards to the vault ceiling) when they're posing around like disciples; I just knew Kendoll was going to come splattering down Waystar's skyscraper windows:dead:

I can't even recall the last series that left me clutching my pearls, ala Succession:lawd:

I read that Jesse Armstrong piece at the Guardian and I am glad I missed reading it before the finale because Armstrong basically lays out that Tom was going to survive and thrive by the end of the series.

I do think he still wants Shiv's love and knows he's never going to get it. He's trapped in a marriage of convenience, but he definitely didn't want that if you look at the first 2.5 seasons.

After sleeping on it, I really REALLY don’t like Shiv but man Tom came up something serious :whoo: IRL, this man is essentially the CEO of NBC/CBS/Fox. Regardless of what happens, he’s cemented career wise from this point forward.

#KingTom :wow: May his reign be blessed :wow:

This is how you do it GOT

This. She's gonna be miserable. Folks are saying she chose Tom to keep some power, but that last shot of them showed that the power dynamic has flipped.
I'm a woman, and I've always maintained that the Skylar hate is very much unwarranted, but Shiv? I haaaaate her. She deserves all the vitriol.

I don't believe for one second that there was any morality or strategy to her decision. I think it was just plain old spite.
It’s literally the worst position she could possibly be in for what we know Shiv to be.
