I'm not done with this season, but I really think the story would've been better served if they'd just let Hopper stay dead after last season. The Russia plotline isn't that interested to me, and is mostly serving as a way to kill screen time and to keep Hopper and Joyce and the other dude with the glasses busy so that the kids can do their thing. This cast is enormous, and I'm on the finale now. I hope a few people get killed off.

I guess its Its cool that NF gave the Duffer Bros the budget and let them go wild

I can't do that with a show I like on the first watch. I did do this with Yellowstone in seasons 2 and beyond during the Beth scenes. I've never done that before. Yellowstone gets that kinda treatment from me. Even when I first started watching it, I would mentally check out during her scenes and check back in when Kayce would pop up and start popping off.

I enjoyed watching this but this is just a filler season and it should have been the storyline for season 2


It just doesn't make sense at this stage of the show.

You can't have two seasons of them fighting the main boss and then throw in a damn lieutenant as the main villain of a season. With how Vecna's powers are it makes no sense as to why he wasn't in the previous two season

They were fighting WHAT THEY THOUGHT was the main boss.

Just finished, and I loved the first part of season 04.

The only thing I hated was El's part. They took a lot of minutes and episodes just to get straight to the point that number 01 was the one who killed everyone, that Eleven killing him opened the portal and that he became the underworld's general after that. They could've done that within the first 3/4 episodes.

Number 2 is the male parallel for 11 in NINA. Both white with the buzz cuts. He's # 2 and she is two 1s (or 1+1). Both are powerful but he has his powers in the past / memory, while El attempts to regain hers in present day. There's two of them and she is trying to become whole again by regaining her powers (becoming 1 again) which would mean she becomes 11 again.

this season is technically 9 episodes. There's 2 more coming on July 1st and they're 4 hours long

Episode 8 is 90 minutes and episode 9 is 2.5 hours.

What we got this week is season 4a. 4b is only 4 weeks away.

EDIT: Also, every episode this season was long as fukk. They were all over an hour. Some were 90 mins. Most of the episodes in previous season were in that 40-50 minute range.

When this season is over it'll be about twice as long as any previous season.

Agreed, and I thought it was pretty obvious that 11 didn't kill all the other kids. You could see the burning thing on the wall where a gate had been opened

At this point I'm giving them a little bit of leeway because I don't think they planned for the show to end up this big. They keep having to come up with new villains that make sense and I think they're doing about a good a job as can be expected. I'm not sure where you can really go after the Mind Flayer, but having a tangible serial killer type humanoid villain/demon dude seems like a good progression into more horror and adult elements as the kids age.
