I ain’t going to even lie, that shyt pulled at the heart strings..
My mans Lucas going down a dangerous path
shyt kinda reminded me of how Wesley pull J.Lo in Money Train..
I like the chemistry between Steve and Dusty..
Their scenes were hella funny..
The reporter playing the same damn character he was in LOVE
Jane/L meeting 8 felt awkward. I get she was like a mentor with the “force” but the story felt out of place amongst the other episodes..

That whole watching the kids felt like Adventures in Babysitting
Hate my man Bob died like that
He hated scary movies
I like how they kept referencing his other movies in subtle ways..

I actually put the show on pause to look up if he Rob Lowe's son or something.
There was at least one "Mondale" sign. I think it might have been when Eleven was spotted by that mother and daughter.
Dart was basically a Mogwai/Gremlin, with a little bit of "Slimer" from Ghostbusters.
It's not from the 80's, but the scenes with Hopper investigating the pumpkin fields were like the opening to an X-Files episode.
Lots of little "Poltergeist" references.
One thing I just realized when trying to come up with this list:
A more realistic 80's version of this story would have MUCH more Cold War/Russian/Nuclear Armageddon references. Movies/songs/etc. were obsessed with that stuff back then. In the 80's they would have made the Upside-Down a metaphor (or analogy...) for a nuclear wasteland, and there would have been a bunch "The Day After" references. And "Mad Max" wouldn't just be a throwaway character name.

Honestly didnt enjoy the second season near as much. Thought it lacked direction and identity. I also felt like they were just adding shyt to add shyt with no real explanations.

Just realized the dualities in the final scene
The Police song Every Breath You Take was playing, and a lot of ppl over the years have mistaken it for a sweet song, and in that way it fits the happy mood of the school dance. But the song is actually about a stalker, and so as the camera spins to the upside down, the Mind Flayer is stalking them and watching them, with every breath they take, etc. This may have been obvious to a lot of others but I just now caught it.
