I don’t need it to be “popular” or “compete” with the switch…I just need it to function/deliver as promised—a fully working handheld PC…did the $5 preorder for the 512GB joint…I figure that will be the one with the least amount of preorders so I won’t have to wait as long once they start releasing them to those who preordered early

I think valve scapegoat the delay on supply chain issue, but I'm 80% I believe it's Steam's Linux OS causing the delay.


Really worried the OS is gonna have a very rough start.

I been using steam link a lot... I've decided against getting it. Much rather stream 1440p Ultra quality settings with a 3090 to my phone than be worried about if my library being playable beyond booting up the game.

Only can play at home tho

According to BoilingSteam , who had a brief Q&A with an anonymous developer for the deck, battery life will be between 2 and 5 hours, depending on the game you play. Also, the loading time from an SD card would not differ from that of the internal (256gb) SSD.

Have you tried any demanding games?
Yes – battery life is between 2-5 hours depending on APU load.
How fast are load times from the microSD card?
Indistinguishable from loading off the SSD; I’ve not timed anything.
