Steam Controller got plenty of support, and new features added. the software support, which includes an extreme amount of customization options, was extended to the Xbox, PS, and Switch Pro controllers, making it so you can play games with no controller support with any of those controllers. and now that software will be used in this device, along with trackpads, haptics, and other things that Valve first used in the Steam Controller

Steam Link moved away from dedicated hardware to a software solution. now you can just download it for your phone or TV. and I'm sure this device will support it, so you could use the Deck to stream from your (more powerful) desktop

Steam Machines didn't really take off, but they were just small form factor PC's (not made by Valve) running Steam OS. most of their partners just repurposed machines they already made. but Valve put in a lot of work on their OS, improving Linux support for games, and leading to Proton. now the Steam Deck runs Steam OS, and benefits from all the work they put into it

none of this shyt was "abandoned". it evolved into the Steam Deck

the HTC Vive was one of the first commercial VR headsets. it was an important part of people figuring out what a VR game could be, and how it could work. now the Index is probably the best VR Headset out, and HL: Alex is the best VR game
Thanks for typing this so I don’t have to. And worst comes to worst. Running Windows and do what the fukk I want with it. We don’t have to depend on Gabe to get use out of this.

Bro. I get it. But honestly. Like I said before. Unless u got the largest one. U only gonna fit like 4 AAA games on that shyt. With the largest one. MAYBE 8 AAA games. Son my PS5 is filled to the brim and I have to keep deleting and moving shyt around and that’s 850gb. None of these storage solutions are great for games that aren’t being specifically built for the handheld. nikkas gonna be running to them SD cards fast as fukk. lol.

To be fair tho, just how many AAA games do you really need to be playing on the go like that? At best, most would only be playing 3-4 at a time. If that.

Damn, setup my Steam account and chose the country I’m currently in and it’s not available here. Any way to change my country without buying something? I don’t even have a pc.

This. Bought a Vive and the gaming controller from
Steam and regretted it immensely. Holding off on any valve hardware products until the test dummies try it first. PC portables always flop, mainly cause windows is trash
For one. This ain’t a Windows based PC. Number 2. The price of entry is pretty high majority of the time. Unlike this thing here. And number 3. People don’t like setting shyt up. It’s not about Windows being trash. It’s about plug and play. Which this thing technically is. That’s only if u don’t wanna side load Windows on to it.

Did you just set up your steam account? If so, that's why it wasn't available for you. You had to have already had a steam account set up and a purchase made before June 2021 in order to reserve yesterday.
