What is their mission now?
They're not part of Starfleet, are they just going to fly around at random?

Does The Federation even consider Synth Picard to be the real Picard? If Picard is officially dead, is the Synth Picard even a citizen? Or he he considered a representative of the Synth race now?

You could argue that the real Picard is dead, and we're just following a Black Mirror "cookie" version of Picard.

(Then again, there are people who argue that every time you use a transporter you "die" and replaced by a replica).
