Outside of his early Daredevil run with Maaleev, I've never really cared for Bendis' renditions personally. He's pretty much hit or miss.
Parker just looked shoehorned in this world to me. Miles would've fit like a glove in this scenario
I did like the film but it's not better than the 1st Spiderman.
Yeah I get it. Bendis is hit or miss with a lot of people. But yeah this is like reading one of those early issues of ultimate. I could totally see this peter being the one who writes a list of insults for the kingpin and rattling them off. Which is why I don't completely get where you're coming from on the Miles thing minus Ned of course but other than that it felt like one of those shyts from the early 2000s

I've never been a fan homie. It's well documented on this site I didn't like his mopey interpretation of spider man and Peter. He played him like a sad sac and the only time he had some personality was when he was full of himself in spider man 3 and it just always rubbed me the wrong way.

Tobey, sans the crying, pretty much embodied the Peter Parker of the Boomer/Gen-X'er characterization of the comics.
The 1st installment is my favorite seeing he was pretty much on point.
It's a classic, fam.
That 3rd one though...

Word. Yeah I just didn't feel him at all. Peter had more backbone than that and was more quippy and stood up for himself. Tobey was really cool with letting everyone run over him
Good movie. Can't say great. But it was a good movie.
Really hard for me to rank it in terms if the other spidey flicks cause the feel is so different. It really was like watching Spider Boy and not Spider-Man since he messed up so much but I'm not mad at that. Was a good new direction. Get to witness his growing pains.
I think Tom did a good job. He just looks like the younger version of the 90s cartoon Spider-Man to me. The main love interest was a bad actor imo but she was . Keaton killked it. Tomei was just there for eye candy imo. Didn't really have much to do with anything.
Overall good flick. I'd give it a 7.7 out of 10. Only glaring issue to me was Flash. Don't care that he was Indian. Just wish he was at least imposing. Just seemed like a lame ass.
I also don't know if i like the direction they are going in with the MJ/ Peter relationship dynamic . That's just me tho. Has just a character Zendaya was funny, but this is a completely different dynamic where MJ is fiending for Peter. Time will tell if they pull it off

she liked him, YEAH. but she wasnt ever stoppin what she was doing for Peter Parker.
this goes for comic book MJ and movie MJ.
unless YOU have some kinda different idea of what "fiendin" means.
:colehuh:
C'mon son, we all watch movies. That's why the montage exists. You can't tell me they couldn't have done a minute long montage of showing his business expanding and his grip becoming more ruthless. Especially because it's literally all the characterization we get from the character until the third act.
