We need to throw hands :hmm:
Honestly if they had left Venom out the movie would have been a lot better. When I first saw it in 07 I left the theater in disgust but I watched it again last year and felt different about it. Venom should have been the only villain in a movie.

Plus I'm in the minority in that I disliked the Garfield movies.

Yeah cats are hype for that. Seemed like a pointless easter egg to me for real for real

No here's the difference: He and I are having an actual discussion about it. Like you know, with words and shyt and discussing points about the flick without it turning into something stupid. @Dominic Brehetto is my man and I respect his love for spidey so I'm always interested in how he sees a movie about the guy and what he feels are strengths and weaknesses.

The thing I find hilarious about that is.... I didnt even imply anyone specific or say a specific persons name. :picard:

But moving along to like..... have an actual discussion about this movie with.... well words and shyt or discussion points about the movie without it turning into something stupid:hubie:

I loved how they had him do some heroic shyt shows his humanity why the people of his world would love to love him. It seems like a few comic book movies on all sides kinda forgot that part of being a hero and kinda cut to personal battles with whatever villain. I didnt know how much I missed that till his 2 epic scene came on.

It felt organic and epic and not like they're trying to make him look cool for the sake of looking cool in some paltry slow mo scene

My rankings for Spider-Man movies from best to worst:

1. Spider-Man 2
2. Homecoming
3. Spider-Man
4. Spider-Man 3
5. Amazing Spider-Man
6. Amazing Spider-Man 2

I need to go back and watch Spiderman 2 again, I kinda forgot what that one was even about again.

Truth be told, the only one that is memorable to me was Spidey 3 but for the wrong reasons.

I would probably still put ASM 1 and 2 again Spidey 3 though.

Not sure the order or placement for Spidy 1 and 2

The ending really intrigues me though. I love the tension of having May be in the dark. She's thinking one thing while Peter's doing another and he has to beat curfew when we know he can't and we know why etc but her knowing does open up some interesting angles as well and probably more of the teenager dynamic when your parent tells you not to do something and you do it anyway. I want to see the reason why (which a little birdie tells me will be dropping on Friday) and also where it goes

Which is why I want to see it again because right now I'm on a high and won't be rational

Fool, you should always write reviews when you're high and irrational. That's when you write the best reviews that people will still bring up randomly all of the time two years after you dropped it.:troll:

Just got out

I liked it,didn't love it. It's not the best MCU film and it's not the best Spidey film, buts its definitely a solid worthy first film.

I was let down by vulture. His "origin" was laughable.

he literally goes from worker to bad guy in 1 fukking scene

Keaton is good and does his best, and his monologue and scene in the car was well done but there's really nothing much to the character. Cool design though.

Holland is good,I like him. He's better than tobey don't think I'll put him above Garfield yet but he can definitely be there for me.

I did not care for the suit dynamic. It just felt like iron man jr. Not a fan. I will say aesthetically it's grown on me a lot.

god I was so relieved peter didn't accept that suit at the end. Jesus christ that thing was ugly.
.

Some of the cgi was shaky as hell. He looked so weightless and fake in parts.

Flash was fukking AWFUL. Huge miscast.

I loved Peters friends. Michelle was fukking great,so was Ned. I really enjoyed the humour of the film. Marvel can be really over bearing but thus film all the jokes felt natural. They weren't shoe horned in,they just flowed very nicely within the story dynamic

The big climax action scene at the end
it takes places at night on a plane and I don't know if it was because of the 3d but man some of the action while vulture and Spidey fought on the plane was very poor,I could barely make out what was happening

The directing and film making was just there,by the numbers and mechanical.

Overall it was good.

I'd rank it as my 4th favorite Spidey flick.

7.5/10

This review almost literally holds the same opinion as me (some points exactly even), but you called me a Marvel stan after I dropped it. You have become the thing you claim you hate the most, breh. :russ:

That's probably the only problem I had with his character. What exactly would be his motivation to keep it a secret? I wouldn't have mind if he got amnesia or something during the crash to explain why he wouldn't know. Yeah it sounds formulaic and too much like the Goblin but :yeshrug:

Spidey saved his life, breh. That's the guy he threatened to murder his family and everyone he loves, and he pulled him out of the fire. If you can't respect that your whole perspective is wack.:hubie:

Yeah confirmed. He's Matt Gargan in the movie breh :russ: did you pull an @Sensitive Blake Griffin and fall asleep during that part?

Who the fukk is Matt Gargan? It's Mac Gargan.:deadmanny:

I've been waiting on Scorpion for forever. Thematically that's such a dope villain, even though they won't use the JJJ angle.

You know what the best kind of trolling is?

I was going to ask if you felt the same way about that vulture fight on the plane? Did you see it in 3D as well?

I'm tired breh. Long day long night. My b. Back to ultron with you

On a serious note I've never been a fan of scorpion but with this actor and potentially this characterization I'll listen

Yes, I thought I said something about it but I only commented on how weightless and animated CGI-Spidey looked. The CGI in this was very dodgy overall, some of the action scenes looked worse for it (shytty close-up direction too) and I had a ton of trouble trying to follow what was going on in the plane fight. I want to give it a second chance before I judge because I was in the fourth row in IMAX so I was really close to the screen but this movie definitely has the worst shot action of all Spidey movies, which is my biggest gripe with this flick after 90% of the narrative being Spidey fukking up and fukking up and fukking up.
