We need Mecha Sonic and Shadow both to end the series with either 3 or 4 movies. I think both of them in one movie would be too cramped though

The problem with Shadow is, the moment he shows up, Knuckes is no longer Sonic's rival and becomes irrelevant.

Think of what happened to Piccolo after Vegeta showed up. Dude basically became a babysitter.

I wouldn't be mad at the series following the canon from the first four games (s1-3 and s&k) and having Mecha Sonic as the final villain in a trilogy with Sonic, Knuckles and Tails all teaming up to go against him.

Or you could swap out Mecha Sonic with Shadow and have Shadow be a Sonic clone from Robotnik to fit the movie plot better. I don't even remember WTF that ultimate lifeform plot was about in Sonic Adventure 2 I was just like "oh shyt a red and black Sonic with the Kobes on " when I was a kid lol

This how I feel. Yall talking about Big The Cat, Amy and shyt . Ima huge Sonic fan and don't really give 2 fukks about them when it comes to the movie. Shadow would be cool but my main complaint from the 1st movie was no Tails and Knuckles. Part 2 has them so I'm happy

It can still be done just keep Shadow as a loner type who stays out of most conflictsSonic, Tales, and Knuckles could still have their own type of adventures

Thing is there is such a goldmine of potential you can break each film series into arcs if done right. Take their time and slowly expand the lore and universe
