It wasn't "sudden"

He's start drinking right after Sissy killed Teddy :dahell:.

He still had Leon and Veronique in his corner.

He had already disowned his mother.

He still had building assets available.

He still had a KGB agent tied up who he was using as a trade chip 5 minutes earlier.

Y'all talk like Franklin had no options.

The character actually had less options at the end of the previous season.

Facts, keeping $70M in banks was dumb as hell. That kinda money, I would’ve had at least half spread out in 4-5 underground bunkers in different states that nobody but me knew about.

exactly. And even if the writers were trying to make you think that as Franklin got richer, he got sloppier, he would at least have the presence of mind to have some cash stashed in various places. Instead Peaches, Teddy and Veronique were all able to clean him out.

This show had a spark when it started but ended as garbage, this shyt ain't worth the think pieces yall coming with.

All of that was alcohol influenced.

That’s why anytime he did that they made it a point to show you the bottle and him drinking first before any action.

If they had him acting rational like he was in season 5 where he clipped his best friend and then was going to do them same to Louie, the audience would have eventually disliked the character because logically he would have put money over everyone and willingly betrayed everyone.

Most people DO NOT see Franklin as the villain breh. Hell you’ve got people who see Franklin as a regular drug dealer when he was a willing CIA asset for a CIA operation :heh:

That's why the ending is a complete MISFIRE.

Franklin was happy to work with a CIA CAC and run an operation to poison his OWN community and when he's called out on it's :manny: , you should have ended the show despising the character. The hell is a character like that getting any sort of "sad ending" for? :stopitslime:

Breh thats just the nature of shows/movies like these:gucci:?

You act like youve never seen a show based around a morally bankrupt person, drug dealers and killers. Where viewers root for them simply because they are the protagonist. You arent going to get everybody to just completely turn on a protaginist lead. Has that ever happened im the history of television?

I think although alot of us felt bad for him. Most reactions I saw said he deserved his ending.

Granted I agree, the majority still refuse to blame Franklin. And blame Reed,Louie and the rest of the family for everything that Franklin became. But what can you do about that? I feel like those people simply didnt watch the show closely enough.

And

Jill Scott was Sissy
Malcolm Mays was Leon (later was casted as Kevin)
Kofi Siriboe (Ralph Angel from Queen Sugar) was Kevin
Darrius McCray was Andre

Amin Joseph (Jerome) said this in an interview back in 2021

I maybe would have liked Sissy more if Jill Scott played her

Speaking of the DEA how come they went after louie but not franklin?
Because the DEA got involved AFTER Franklin tried to leave & Louie & Jerome took over the operation.

The feds think Louie is the real kingpin, essentially giving her the credit she wanted. :heh:
That’s not how it was introduced
He didn’t come up with no recipe, he wasn’t the biggest rock dealer (Bo Bennett/Melvin Butler)
And Danilo Bladon (Ross first supplier) turned dea informant
It’s was just a sloppily written show
Like it or not, that's how the story has been told for 30 years now.

"Freeway" Ricky Ross is considered the father of crack. :yeshrug:

The way most people see the CIA today (especially post-internet) is different than people saw the CIA back then.

The whole "CIA is trying to destroy the Black community" thing was seen as a conspiracy by what we'd call "Hotep" nikkaz today.

Remember how much disdain Franklin had for his Panther parents. He viewed them as losers

A lot of people saw some of those ex-Black Power movement folks as losers up until the '90s because a lot of them (like Alton) became drunks and drug addicts. Remember Huey Newton & Pac's mama became crackheads, while Eldridge Cleaver became a Mormon & a Ronald Reagan supporter.:francis:

That show would've been asscheeks
