This show didn’t show anything
Writers fukked this show up
I kept forgetting what this show was about
To me the show was a take on Rick Ross’ story and how crack was introduced. It delivered on that imo :manny:

At some point you have to move beyond the street level shyt. We got enough of that in the earlier seasons.

That’s not how it was introduced
He didn’t come up with no recipe, he wasn’t the biggest rock dealer (Bo Bennett/Melvin Butler)
And Danilo Bladon (Ross first supplier) turned dea informant
It’s was just a sloppily written show

yeah cissy for sure. she was all on her high horse early on only to get totally involved with franklin's criminal enterprise.

jerome as well. yes, he was loyal to his family, but he literally beat a woman to death on the street. that was disgusting.

I didnt like how Cissy came around so quickly, just based on how deadset she originally was against it. But she had her reasons. In her defense,Franklin was legitimately attempting to go legit. So she had an endgame in mind.

Thats why I dont all the way buy Franklin being addicted to chasing money. He seemed content walking away and living off the 73 million and his real estate. Didnt seem addicted to the game or the rush of it all really.

And im giving Jerom a pass. Because those women did shoot his wife. And helped Franklin steal millions of dollars from him and Louie.

So if they were scared to fully villianize him, they sure didnt seem like it. Had him threaten Leon, tell Cissy he wish she was dead, "choke" Veronique, had him kill that innocent man with 3 kid

All of that was alcohol influenced.

That’s why anytime he did that they made it a point to show you the bottle and him drinking first before any action.

If they had him acting rational like he was in season 5 where he clipped his best friend and then was going to do them same to Louie, the audience would have eventually disliked the character because logically he would have put money over everyone and willingly betrayed everyone.

It practically took all that to have people stop making excuses for Franklin and see him as the villian. I agree we wouldnt have felt bad for him without the alchohol element. But they easily couldve chosen to NOT make him a full blown villian on the very last show. If there was some other ending they wanted

Most people DO NOT see Franklin as the villain breh. Hell you’ve got people who see Franklin as a regular drug dealer when he was a willing CIA asset for a CIA operation :heh:

That's why the ending is a complete MISFIRE.

Franklin was happy to work with a CIA CAC and run an operation to poison his OWN community and when he's called out on it's :manny: , you should have ended the show despising the character. The hell is a character like that getting any sort of "sad ending" for? :stopitslime:

Franklin was definitely industrious on his own without Teddy.

But the truth is he had so much help along the way from his family and friends, its not even funny.

Then he treated them like they werent important and he built it all by himself. And like they only had what they had because of him:gucci:

Then he turned around and got mad at Teddy for looking at him like he didnt build shyt on his own,and wouldve been nothing without him. Franklin was the catalyst who got them all thinking about building a drug network. But he definitely couldnt have done it without his family.

I think him losing it,is more proof that his family helped him hold it all together, more than he gave credit for. Both on a bidness level, and a personal level. Anybody think he wouldve become Alton if he still had a good relationship with his mama, uncle, aunt, best friend? Even if they all lost everything, they wouldnt have let Franklin go out like he did.

That Brick By Brick speech was the begining of the end:mjcry:
And remember when Andre took him around the neighborhood to show the destruction and asked how does he sleep at night. And his response…

All he did to have nothing in the end.

We saw the problem with stash houses with Peaches, and later Franklin when he got Jerome and Louie.
Yeah well anytime you have money somewhere and you aren't the only person who knows where it is there's a risk of it being taken...
Maximum security would be locking it in a safe and dropping it to the bottom of the pacific ocean but then not even you yourself would ever be able to retrieve it.

Sounds like you too close to the subject matter to enjoy the show and no matter what they did, you most likely wouldnt have been satisfied :manny:

To a large majority this was a presented as a drug dealing show, it remained a drug dealing show. To a certain group of ppl that knew surface level stuff about Rick Ross' story, working with the CIA. It delivered on that as well.

Even in the S1 trailer it says "this is how crack began" at the end. They delivered on that.

Yea, if you so deep in it that you know Ross' first supplier was yada yada and whoever was actually the biggest rock dealer, you not gonna enjoy it.
