I just binge watched all 3 seasons in a week.

I love the show but I stopped liking Franklin at the end of season 2 when he killed his best friend to protect a Cholo.

And I think the show really dropped the ball on Kevin, he was a main character and nobody even cared about his death besides Leon for a short period of time. I really hope the writers didn't expect us to accept Franklin's justification.

Out of the two people Franklin killed, he looked neither of them in the eye. It's kinda like there was truth to what both victims said before he killed them.

I don't blame Mel at all for shooting Franklin. But that looked like a .22 and I'm 99% sure Franklin survives due to plot armor.

That’s all fine and dandy but not how it works in the drug game. You need to be ruthless or else someone is always gonna come for your spot. Whether internal or external. In the beginning Franklin was leaving folks alive (Karvel, Lenny) letting his people disrespect him (Kevin) etc. None of it was believable given how much bread he was holding and how small his team was. This was my biggest gripe in the first two seasons. Didn’t feel realistic for his position.

plus he was always rolling around dolo. At least they did a better job in season 3 showing him kill some folks and instill FEAR in his people and his enemies.

But he was real scared of those Mexicans. Kevin had every right to feel betrayed.

I disagree. I feel like had they spent more time explaining too much and tying up loose ends it would’ve taken away anticipation for next season. The dream/coma sequence was a great way to prepare us for the final leg by explaining Franklin’s final transformation.

I kinda look at him being shot as the metaphorical death of the good kid he was. Done at the hands of the girl next door/love interest so the vulnerability he had has to logically go out the window now. Despite how far Franklin has come, deep down he was still that good kid and there needed to be a life changing moment to change that.

I’ll say I wouldn’t have been mad if they’d done more explaining of what went down but I personally like that there’s a whole three month gap of events that need to be explained next season. How did Stacy/Manboy even pick up gang bangin? What is Franklin/Reed’s work relationship now? What happened to Mel? Is Leon gon get at Manboy? How much bullshyt will the Andre’s partner put Franklin through?

"Good Franklin" died at the end of Season 2, and definitely by the time he killed Andre.
