"Good Franklin" died at the end of Season 2, and definitely by the time he killed Andre.
A lot of “good Franklin” died in season 2 you right, but if all of him was dead he wouldn’t be having guilt trips after killing Andre and he damn sure wouldn’t be tryna save Mel after she got strung out, AFTER her folks got his trap houses run into.
Nah, Franklin was still a good nikka deep down inside but the nature of the game was quickly transforming him. Season 4, I don’t expect any friendliness from this nikka at all.
I think the show is very good but I disagree with the posters saying that's it near flawless.
My biggest gripe is that Franklin (to me) lacks the "likeable" quality of other crime drama protagonists. It's weird because I find everyone else in his crew likeable. I also don't buy that he's a tough guy, there were a lot of scenes where I thought to myself "this guy would never run shyt in real life".
The only noticibly bad acting I can think of from the recent episodes was Crackhead Mel, she wasn't selling it very well.
I agree, there are certain things that knock Snowfall down a notch from The Wire. It’s not as realistic of a show but it’s still great. And while I applaud the writers for that character switch up on Mel becoming a fiend. It does a good job of showing how people back then didn’t take the dangers seriously and even someone with a good head on their shoulders could fall victim. I personally think it would’ve been better if she just ended up fukkin with Franklin as his right hand after Andre was killed.
To me, that would’ve made for a more compelling storyline. Mel would be fukkin with Franklin learning all the secrets while we as viewers wait to see how she finds out Franklin murked her dad and how she’ll react to it. It could’ve also helped create some schisms within the group. Pretty much every main character other than maybe Leon would’ve been beefin with Franklin had Mel become his love interest and right hand woman in the operation.
Since the last episode was a dream sequence they could always flip it in that same way but at this point they gotta go forward with what they got. Now we gotta knock what happened to cracked out Mel (smh, you too fine for this baby
), how Andre parter gon extort, will Reed be able to get him out that mix. Season 4 definitely gon be great but I just can see that it’s not at the level of The Wire which is ok.
