Franklin is a smart young man who knows how to adapt to situations.

That much about him was understood in the first season so it's no surprise that even for the lil bit of time he was in jail he adapted.

He told his momma he was giving up this lifestyle but he just beat a murder charge.........that last shred of innocence in him is gone

You heard him say they taking down anyone who interrupts his business regardless of who it is.

He really don't give a fukk now
I swear if they don't renew this shyt for another season fukk FX

Didn’t Freeway Rick know he was working for the government? I think it brings more realism to the show that he’s not unaware of what’s going on and can connect dots. I mean dude went to an Ivy League school. He’s not dumb.

Freeway Rick didn't know the government was involved until after he went to prison and Gary Webb put the pieces together for him...

Freeway Rick didn't deal directly with a CIA agent.. the person he was getting coke from was Danilo Blandon who was deallng with the CIA. He's supposed to be the crazy Nicarauguan dude Reed killed at the end of season 1. They also gave him a slick shout out when Reed refers to one of the Columbins who kidnapped his brother as Danilo.. so basically they killed Danilo off and replaced him with Reed for the show...

Im glad they didn't introduce the bloods and crips shyt into the storyline yet. The Bloods and the Crips shyt was popping at that time especially the crips shyt. Also, there were a TON of other gangs that eventually folded into the Crips and Bloods. The gang element hasnt been needed...yet. Also, the Incident between the Blacks and Mexicans has already happened. I'm sure LA brehs can elaborate on what set off the war between the Mexicans and Black Folks.

but anyone else feel a bit uncomfortable with how they've straight jacked freeway rick's story though?

I was thinking this while watching the finale. it's a little vulgar

The family,the storylines ,Lucia,and the meat of the story aren't really about RIck Ross life. I see what your saying,but without the CIA dynamic,this would just be another story about nikkas selling drugs.I'm loving the fact CIA involvement is finally front and center,and not something thats just hinted at.. If this was Freeways story you would have to worry about being respectful and making it a biography,fiction I'm sure is much more interesting

I don't like Franklin knowing about CIA,just because it begs the question,why would he continue to work for Reed knowing he is likely having a case built against him?We'll have to see what kind of convo he has next season,the show keeps suprising me and keeps tying up lose ends.

Also on the rewatch it was than I thought when they took his shoes. Homie took Franklins shoes,and threw him off his top bunk so he could get comortable.

No Lucia at all this episode. It looked like ol boy got away when she was shooting at him too... I wonder how it'll go for her next season.

Leon killed that last episode got me hyped with that speech. Next season I hope they make Franklins character a little more darker, he can’t be half way gangster

i was hoping they were going to add the blood/crips aspect to the show through the prison.

The did subliminally make note that Franklin is from a Crip hood because Ray-Ray says "cuz" to him. Similar to how Boyz N Da Hood & Menace II Society basically said what gangs they were from without actually saying is explicitly. Most studio productions try to refrain from saying actual gang names (a whole lot come behind that).

I'm so glad they started focusing solely on Franklin's story cus I could care less about the others, even tho I knew the purpose & necseeity of them.

So if Leon didn’t tell him what to do, Frank’s anger towards his pops would have made him beat that spanish dude up for no reason? You’re right, Alton and his mom’s painful reaction fueled him to reach that breaking point, but breh did exactly what Leon told him to do. His unc played a vital role as well which made Franklin G-check Ray Ray. That entire visit helped him tremendously but even that, jail was an “education” for him. Season 3 Franklin is going to be a different vibe.

Yup he used that shyt to get in the right mindframe. Thats why he didnt have time to deal wit his mama cryin. It goes back to the point that Unc mentioned in the previous episode. "All of us are part of that boy"

And its gotta be said...I don't think any nikka in the history of television ever been beaten and robbed in 2 seasons as much as Franklin has. I know he's got some get back but damn. How has this nikka not committed that as much as he's been punked. I gotta go thru the recaps and try to come up with an official count:

He got beat and then robbed by Lenny and Ray Ray
Then robbed for that money by that rapin ass nikka.
Gets beat up by 12 in front of his friends and family
Gets beat up by them ese's who broke his mamas car window
Gets t-boned... tased... kidnapped...tortured and extorted by the CIA dude
Got a gun pulled on him by Kevin and had to be saved by Leon yet again...i guess this don't count but damn man...this aint leadership
Got robbed by one of his own people for crack profit
then had a truck of money "ambushed and ripped off"..which was really some nikka in the crew who claimed it was for the nikkas in the crew who got killed by the Messicans
Got robbed by the rich white boys pops who took all the cocaine.
Had Leon's bytch take some product and throw a fukkin party
Got robbed by Oso and that Cartel bytch for the Crack formula
Got a kitchen robbed by Leons crackhead bytch...who later said she had been stealin all along
Then went to jail...got robbed for his shoes...and his bunk
then got his ass kicked by Ray Ray and them
Then he got his ass beat by mexicans and c.o's after gettin his chucks back...

Hope this nikka has better luck in season 3

gangs were around as you can tell by some subtle hints throughout the show but they didn't really blow up to the culture we all really know it as until the crack epidemic hit. I'm sure gangs will be featured more prominently as this show moves forward...at least if they want to keep this show realistic.

That old Franklin is dead. Died when his pops came in trying to give him advice. Right after that, stole off the Mexican to get his shoes back, told Ray Ray that he could get his whole family touched, reminded him he should know he ain't just talking to talk, told Reed that he was done with the giving other people in his crew control, it was all him from now on.

Season 3 Franklin gonna be on some shyt

He told Ray Ray, "I'm in here cause I killed my best homie"

Compare that to Ray Ray's expression when Frank reminds him about what happened with Lenny, he went from to
