@KnowledgeIsQueen I've had the paragard since August of 2011 and the only complication I found with it was a heavy periods in the beginning. Like I had to stock up on Overnight sized pads or use two regular sized ones. 15 months later, it's certainly better. My period does last a little longer than it used to; probably 7 days in the beginning with 4 days of heavy bleeding. Now it's about 5 days long with heavy bleeding the first 2 days.
I've learned a lot about my body and my cycle, if you're into that kind of thing just based on if I can easily feel my strings or not.
