Either spoof has a new meaning or you two are not aware of what the word actually means, but it is absolutely not a spoof anywhere throughout.

Yeah, it's not a spoof but to clarify I just don't like making a bonnie and Clyde type story out of a police brutality incident when we've haven't received justice from a lot of those cases. It just seems in bad taste IMO.

Why are those the only two projects that are not superhero movies or Quentin Tarantino movies that online "cinephile" guys reference? They are not good, and there are barely any people who are not one of you who has seen that bullshyt. No one is trying to imitate Refn of all people, and you really need to watch more things if those projects are your only frames of reference. You are surely posting a bunch in the thread for someone who purports to have no interest in the project by the way.

It is not a Bonnie & Clyde story, though. When people refer to people as Bonnie & Clyde, they refer to people who are in a tumultuous, interdependent relationship with one another. They are not usually referring to people who literally go on a crime spree. They are not going on a crime spree in the screenplay nor does the trailer appear to suggest that either. It is more similar to Thelma & Louise than anything else. It is similar in that it is about camaraderie between two people who America usually does not want to see have any happiness.
