I finally got my disc drive yesterday and is it me or did it take this long to install games from the disc? Felt like it took way longer than I remembered. Spider-Man 2 took like what felt like an hour or so to install. Like the final 13% or something took like 30 minutes.

Right. You know what I'm happy Sony made the right decision to go $700 price for PS5 Pro. Imagine if Pro cost less than $700, and Pro would have sold out immediately cause of the scalpers.
I think the scalping from the base PS5 is the reason why they chose that price point. Think of how many bought they for $700 or higher

I've read that there are only two ways to transfer my PS4 and PS5 games to a PS5 Pro:

1. Use the transfer feature in the settings and make sure both consoles are on the same network.

2. Put your games on an internal m.2 SDD then take it out and put that ssd in the new PS5.

I read there is a third method that will not work. Transferring from usb extendes storage. Is that true? I'm using a portable USD drive on my PS5 to store extra games. I can play PS4 games from it but have to transfer PS5 games back over to the PS5 to play. I assume the same situation will apply to PS5 Pro.

Can I transfer my games from the game drive to the PS5 Pro? I read online on other sites that I can't...but Sony's website said I could. I'm getting conflicting information.

"If you want to use USB extended storage that you were previously using with your PlayStation®4 console or another PS5 console, simply connect it to your PS5 console."

USB extended storage on PS4 consoles
I used method 2 and also had an external hard drive connected by USB and got everything set up without any issues. The only thing is that since I had Astro's playroom (the game that comes with the PS5 and PS5 pro) saved on my internal SSD when I transferred the SSD to the Pro there were two copies of the game (one on the PS5 pro that was included and another on the SSD from my OG PS5) so I either had to delete the copy of the game from the new SSD or reformat the new SSD as a whole (which would still delete the game along with anything else saved on it) so I just deleted the extra copy of the game.

I would probably recommend either of those options over the transfer feature #1 (and definitely over re-downloading everything) if it can be avoided. It's quick and basically plug and play unless you have to move your PS5 games back from the external storage to play.

Would also make sure that you have all your PS4/5 game saves backed up on the cloud or somewhere else since you don't want to lose those.
