Nah. I had a limit level raised due to sync between aerith and cloud. as soon as “the end is nigh” popped up, I did the ascension slash instead of cross slash, which increases stagger

Hit focused thrust like 4-5 times while slashing in between to build my ATB up every time. hit aeriths limit break to heal me and her.

Staggered him and that was it.

So glad to be done

A 3-bar Lifeblood Cannon is the powerful and consistent ability in the game besides -Aga magic and Limits.

These damn two handed sit ups! You make one mistake and you might as wall reboot the mini game.

The one in remake was way better because you could do it one handed. Trying to raise my affection with Tifa and this comes up. I think I may just skip it and start picking the wrong answers with Aerith.

This is worse than when I spent an hour in Remake fighting a boss on the expressway because the bike wouldn't handle the way I wanted it to. At least this is optional though.

Just about to finish cosmo canyon and so far I’ve done most of the optional content but I’m getting to the point where I’m going to just to skip the rest and push to the end.

I hit about 60 hours in this game and it’s like running into a brick wall. They went nuts on all these mini-games.

I mean I put 100+ hours into Trails Through Daybreak and Metaphor ReFantazio and it was fine but this game just induced burnout for me. Doesn’t help that a lot of the side content just feels like busy work to stall your playthrough. World map traversal at and past Gongaga started to feel like a chore.

I hope the 3rd part returns to a style closer to Remake where it’s more linear than this open world style.

Gongaga is where I got burnt out too, the good thing is you can just do main quests from here on out and not be underpowered.

Biggest mistake you can make in this game is to do shyt you don't want to do. Just progress the main quest at this point

Sweet Mary and Joseph this boss called Galian Beast ripped us a new butthole. They forced a party member on me I never use and the whole battle the thing just jumps around going apeshyt and hitting us for 1/3 to 2/3 rds our health with single attacks. The whole fight I had to spend all my AT healing party members.

It's times like that which make me dislike the fact that battles happen in real time but abilities and healing are not real time. You gotta get up in that things face just to be able to use abilities and that's why your health is so low. Also not a fan that the bosses have so many attacks you can't dodge that suck your characters into them.

I’ve fought the final boss 10 times and still can’t win. The damn AI team mate instantly dies when he goes into his spam attack and I hit him two bravers and with a level 2 limit break and it’s still not enough to stagger before he plugs out the instant death attack.

It’s not even a hard fight just drawn out. I even tried to save my summon for that part and they made sure to take it away.

First time I fought him I didn't have any equipment on Aerith, took me like an hour and I think the game just pitied me and gave me a lucky break with my limit. GOAT game but the final gauntlet has a few poor game designs.

What's your equipment like? Aerith should be warding herself and bombing the shut out of Sephy with Firagas while Cloud circles around and slashes and everytime you get to Aerith you also drop a Firagas.

I ended up beating him. Really you need a good load out to manage that and I didn't have one. Something with haste would have worked which I had on a different party member. I didn't want to redo the entire boss gauntlet cause it was pretty long.

I had to do it over and over until I reached the perfect condition of both party members having almost full health and two ATB bars as soon as he starts the end is nigh. At that point I had the 2nd character unload both their ATB bars in the best attack possible before they died and Cloud do the same then I stayed as close as possible and kept up an assault. I delayed the limit break as long as I could.

The difference was before the AI got my 2nd character killed I used their ATBs up and didn't bother healing, just let them die after.

Same. Like most my party had no or random materia equipped because I was mainly swapping out equipment/materia to whomever I decided was in the party. I suppose the game wants you to have your entire party as optimized as you can, but I didn't really see the point. I was punished for it towards the end.
