If this ends with the entire family alive and consequence free - witness protection is not a consequence IMO - this show will definitely fail to reach that prestige tv level. Somebody gotta die.
Wouldn’t that be the predictable route on some Seinfeld they all end up in jail shyt :russell:

Very few shows do people walk away :francis:

It's not a matter of absurdity and being realistic like The Wire.

It's simply about writing. Nobody is even countering any of the critiques people are giving for this season either. Just ignoring them and then bringing up other shows as references.

Ozark is not touching Better Call Saul, let alone, Breaking Bad.

Let's kill this narrative now please.
It’s not touching it because you don’t want it to.

On Ep 5 so far.

This private investigator needs to mind his fukking business unless he aint no real PI. Aint no divorce papers in the world worth this much :gucci:

Jonah. I get it but in the words of Boosie, cmon man :unimpressed:. U parents work for the Cartel. There is only but so much wiggle room they have.

This mf Javi got too much dip on his chip :beli:
For a while I thought the private investigator was Helen's ex husband, would explain why he's so invested in this shyt

Just finished. So was the opening scene of the first episode supposed to be how this show ends or something?

And why do some people feel like the car crash was staged? How the hell do you stage flipping your car over like that?

But about the season it self. RIP Wyatt. Jonah still out here thinking he can just do whatever he wants. Wendy lives for this shyt. She low key wanna bang Navaro :dead:

Lmao at the new lawyer just getting thrown into all this mess.
That nikka threw Marty under the bus quick when Javi popped up on him:pachaha:Overall dope start to the season. Every episode is tense. I mentioned it in last season's thread but it would have been nice to get a little flashback displaying what Darlene had over the sheriff. What began as a minor back story grew in stature. Crazy how Jonah and Charlotte flipped roles as the most annoying teen ever. Curious how Ruth left with the drugs considering how they were slapping her around.:patrice:

It's funny that you guys were talking about everyday man get into crime shows like this, breaking bad, and weeds.

When I was watching this I was like why can't there be a black show like that. Then I thought for a minute and was like nah these shows are some white privilege shyt. If a regular breh tried doing all this bs the show would be over quick. The series premiere would be the series finale in one episode:russ:

I still enjoyed it though. Ruth better stay alive :birdman:

The problem with Jonah is the problem with a lot of TV/Movie writing

There's this trope of the rebellious teen who's CARTOONISHLY obnoxious and stupid, making decisions that an untrained monkey wouldn't. Decisions that put not only the dumb ass teen at risk, but the entire family

It's in a LOT of shows that have a teenager. Hell just two seasons ago Charlotte was getting the hate Jonah is now for the exact same dumb ass annoying behavior

It's at best low hanging fruit writing

Carl Grimes syndrome

Nailed it. It's all perspective

For a black man, living the life of Walter White is a W. For Walt it's a tale of him living in miserable purgatory with no purpose:russ:

That's why these "everyday suburban white person getting into the drug game " shows become so popular

We all watch for the fukkery but white people in particular see themselves as these characters and their families and get to live out their fantasy of escaping from the monotony of quiet suburban living

Why does Marty drive a 30 year old car, though? Is that a part of the story that I missed?
