215 Uptown!
Just finished. So was the opening scene of the first episode supposed to be how this show ends or something?

And why do some people feel like the car crash was staged? How the hell do you stage flipping your car over like that?

But about the season it self. RIP Wyatt. Jonah still out here thinking he can just do whatever he wants. Wendy lives for this shyt. She low key wanna bang Navaro :dead:

Lmao at the new lawyer just getting thrown into all this mess.

Question: What could Navarro have told Javi on the phone to make him cooperate with the FBI?

1) Javi doesn't seem like the "FBI informant" type and 2) Javi is going to put 2 and 2 together, and realize his uncle was working with the FBI and was likely responsible for the sieges

1. Javi has shown he's ambitious and has no moral code. Navarro simply told him the deal he was getting and how it could benefit Javi. And Javi understood how vastly beneficial it was where he could do whatever the fucck he wants, not just for 5 years, but a whole DECADE and the FBI will give him a pass just as long he snitch on his competition and the FBI get their cut. You see in a blink of an eye how much more powerful he became by agreeing to the deal.

I really didn't understand that interaction because the most damaging shyt that Javi did that the FBI could hold over him would be shyt that would implicate the Byrde's snitching on him. (the sheriff and the bombing)

Honestly, everything that played out between Navarro and the FBI was a massive reach in this show.

Not exactly. The FBI & CIA does this in real life.

Another thing that was unrealistic

Darlene had no goons. She's running a million dollar heroin business, beefing with the KC mob and the cartel, and had no f*cking goons. Just her and Wyatt and a shotgun :martin:

Why is that's unrealistic? Considering the Snells and Darlene in particular BEEN THIS WAY. And she does have goons. That was shown in season two when her husband and were ambushed by the cartel. But she's been someone who feel she's so bout it that she acts like she doesn't need any protection for herself and gives zero fukks who comes after her. That's been her character all season. Why are you complaining about a character trait which ended up being her own downfall?

I think the key in contextualizing Ozark is realizing that the "white suburban person/couple getting deep in the drug game" is a genre that hinges on absurdity

You gotta suspend disbelief while leaving enough room to joke on the silly shyt that happens in these shows

Weeds was a cartoon, Breaking Bad was a CARTOON:mjlol:, Ozark is a little more grounded but is still cartoony

Part of the appeal of these shows are how unrealistic they can get. It's akin to the way you gotta turn your intelligent brain off before enjoying the fukkery in them Fast and Furious movies:russ:

That said I will never get over that train robbery in Breaking Bad season 5:dead::dead::dead:
It's not a matter of absurdity and being realistic like The Wire.

It's simply about writing. Nobody is even countering any of the critiques people are giving for this season either. Just ignoring them and then bringing up other shows as references.

Ozark is not touching Better Call Saul, let alone, Breaking Bad.

Let's kill this narrative now please.

I personally believe that fine azz, full lipped FBI agent is working with Navarro on the low. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just got a feeling that's a twist..

if so, his reaction of spitting on the ground makes no sense.

Also, Maya's reaction with her mom's and the agency about her being righteous don't add up either.

Maybe their reactions are a part of the plan. If he felt he was set up, why didn't he kill the Byrds AND the agent that set him up? I'm probably wrong, I don't know. It's just something I thought about

I also really wish people would stop mentioning The Wire with other shows as loosely as they do

The Wire is peerless

I remember watching Breaking Bad and thinking man...the cops would have this dude locked up in a year if this was The Wire. Breaking Bad was full of some sloppy shyt (phones, trusting a drug addict with major business, etc) but it at least tried to stay grounded to a degree and then leaned so hard into the strengths of the characters/acting that you could accept the sloppy stuff. Not to mention Breaking Bad had consequences. A major character got smoked in the midst of the very same "white person involved in heavy shyt moves around without fear of retribution or danger" vibe I get from Ozark. You think it's one way...it's the other way. That hasn't happened in Ozark yet, at least not for the Byrd family.

Even the ending with the two characters dying (dunno how spoilers work here so I won't use names)...that person would have been dead ages ago in a show that was better written. But because that person needed to stick around to advance certain parts of the plot...they were allowed to do all types of WILD shyt and disrespect (and shoot!) important people with no consequences. Hell...

fukk it, spoilers:

You kill the leader of a major mob/gang and nothing happens, even after the son learns about it? Literally the only reason you die is because Javi pays a visit? Come on. Not to mention Ruth allowing Wyatt to hang around that chick KNOWING that bad shyt was probably gonna happen?
