You were more than likely playing her wrong.

The hide and res tactic was only on specific maps and usually on defense - Anubis B.

Most good/top tier Mercy's like myself, boost dmg or are busy healing. The hiding to res thing wasn't really advised, especially in 2CP and Payload. It was common on Hanamura and Anubis B, those of course being known as pure cancer maps, had other problems to deal with. Also you'll still be hiding with the new Mercy, as hovering like a moron while getting targeted by every dps/turret in the game isn't going to be fun.

More battle Mercy's isn't smarter, its lazier and bad for team work. I don't want the healer focusing mostly on DPS...there's an entire bracket for dps, and many other toons in other brackets dps as well.

The part of her ultimate I'm not a fan of is that she flies around in the air for the duration instead of controlling when she stays in the air, which makes her vulnerable to fire. In addition, I think she should not have infinite ammo on her gun. There have also been videos of her still flying around while slept by Ana's dart (will get patched, I know). And I agree about the battle Mercy, you may get more players that focus on attacking instead of healing.

How you play Mercy is how my natural instincts are to play her as well. Always be flying around healing/damage boosting which I'm really good at. But in her current form there are situations and parts of the map where it is beneficial to just hide, have teammates die on point together and fly in and resurrect, and I'm fukking TERRIBLE at just hiding and flying out to resurrect, it's so against my natural instincts of continuing to heal/damage boost teammates. I'm not saying hide and res every single time res comes up, but again, there are situations and parts of certain maps where hiding and resurrecting was a complete game changer. Battle Mercy is never going to be viable, her damage is bugged on PTR and it will always be more beneficial to damage boost your teammates or heal when you ult because they heal more/damage boost more. That's why I'm excited about these changes because they will be beneficial to the way I play Mercy.

Just look at some high ranked youtubers who play Mercy...many of them only hide and rez on certain maps and on certain instances. Mercy is meant to be played like the Medic in TF2, the problem with that ideology is that not many people play TF2, especially those just coming into OW. So they don't understand how a pocket healed tank can be a murder machine. So many try to add a broken sense of nuance to her.

Again, many MOBA's have a beam healer, kinda the way of life for anything PVP in this context, so hiding, isn't valuable per second. Basically your APM is to heal and dmg boost as Mercy, anything else, and you're not providing anything beneficial. With that posted, the new Mercy implementation is just dumb. It forces players to go pistol....in a game with 7+ other DPS. That's counter intuitive to her kit and APM. So what we're gonna be doing as the new Mercy is dying a lot more to Soldiers, Zen's and Mei's.

So by pure response to this change, Mercy's will stick to healing and Rezing/running away. Basically the same broken tactic from before, except instead of already hiding, you'll be forced to hide after the ult, because everyone is gonna look for it. That's a fail in my book.

i've lost like 10 in a row and over 500 SR. The two games I've played today i've gotten gold elims and silver hero damage as LUCIO. WHY THE fukk ARE MY TEAMMATES SO shyt

Baiting the enemy team to use all their ults and then coming in to res everyone is just smart IMO. I like that part of the game and it makes it a priority to find the Mercy and kill her before using all of your ults. It makes her powerful and worth playing:yeshrug:

Anybody here use oversumo? It's a nice app to get a better picture of how good you are with each hero you use, but I wonder how accurate it is.

I already went through qualifiers. The account I made it to diamond on was "Im80andGay"

I gave that account to a friend cause I was trolling on it last season and got put at 1800sr this season. So im on my "main" account bringing that up currently from about the same sr. Its at 2300 right now

Name a character better then. Roadhog is god awful. There's not a single role that he does better then anyone else. He's a even bigger battery ult then he was before. My tracer/Solider was having a field day with him.
