I mean the in-story reason is he has no reason to kill him. Anakin in the flashback said mercy doesn’t defeat enemies vs defense of life. He was never chasing Anakin in this series.

Anakin is still fighting Obi-wan. Obi-wan is worried about Luke restoring balance. He only came out of retirement to save Leia.

Anakin acting like that dude still mad about a loss 20 years ago while you have moved on with a wife and kids. It just seems kinda pathetic.

Isn't the fact that Darth Vader is a psychopath who spends most of his time terrorizing the galaxy and murdering people a good enough reason?

Think of all the people Vader wouldn't have been able to murder over the next decade if Obi finished him.

Nah Vader is far weaker than Anakin was. It makes sense once Obi Wan knocked off the ring rust he would wash him.

Obi has a real weakness for Anakin and this episode confirms it

Still feels guilty for Anakins turn even though he had nothing to do with it. Anakin literally tells him “I’m not your failure”

Beats him in battle but then his unfounded guilt makes him spare him. Not sure if this is just about his character or shady writing

it makes sense because in new hope he didn’t even put up a fight and let Vader kill him.

Obi wan is on when it comes to any other opponent

Not true at all bruh, Palpatine would replace Vader.

There's nobody as strong as Vader around, so he would have to replace him with someone significantly weaker like the Grand Inquisitor.

Any way you cut it, getting rid of Vader would've been a good look for the galaxy. Sure the Empire would still be there but it would be weakened.
