I always thought Jay is Sopranos, Nas is Wire and Breaking Bad is like Ghostface or Wu :yeshrug:

I'd go with Jay being Breaking Bad, and Nas being The Wire as television shows - not particularly plot wise*. Breaking Bad is the more popular, better produced (cinematography, direction, music selections, etc), more accessible, etc show. Whereas The Wire is the denser, better written (and acted, overall) show that isn't as "sexy" or well produced, thus doesn't have much mainstream appeal and ultimately had low tv ratings. Personally I don't think there's any question that The Wire is far superior to Breaking Bad, which is a really good show but just doesn't match up to The Wire or The Sopranos. Peak HBO v AMC.


*plot wise Reasonable Doubt is probably closer to The Wire than anything, in terms of the attention to detail and hustler/criminal info.

Yeah, i didn't agree with that dude saying The Wire was more popular then Breaking Bad, BB was doing all time audience ratings while The Wire was barely hitting half a mill viewers in season 5, people don't even realise that The Wire got cancelled after Season 3 due to poor audience ratings & David Simon had to beg HBO to let him finish the story.

The Wire is the GOAT though, so that's why it's parallel to Nasir:banderas:

No mention lately about releasing an album for 2016. But he has been working on other HUGE projects: movies, tv shows and writing books(2017). Nas is setting his future up for greatness. He is really busy with his investment firm, label and production company. He will continue to be a creative force for the culture just not primarily through music...but music is coming(doubtful for 2016...you never know).

Im gonna say this and dont beat me up guys..Life Is Good is the type of album you can walk out the game on. Personally i think he has one more good one. And i may be another year or two before we get another full LP. But dont be shocked if LiG is accidentally his last true album. I see him continuing to drop tracks and music in various ways tho
