Nas to Record On Mass Appeal Records; Will Release 'Lost Tapes 2' & Posthumous Pimp C Album
This has been announced. Mass Appeal already put out RTJ2, Fashawn's sophomore album The Ecology and Bishop Nehru's project.
LT2 will drop AFTER Nas is free and clear of Def Jam, the reason being (in my opinion) is because Mass Appeal is distributed by RED, which is owned by Sony. Sony owns the rights for all of Nas's unreleased material up to Streets Disciple (and probably Hip Hop Is Dead and Untitled as they "shared" Nas with Def Jam as part of his deal to move over there)
It would make sense for to drop LT2 with the full array of unreleased material from 20 plus years rather than only 8 or so from Def Jam
I must admit that I am just a little more excited about the Lost Tapes 2 than the new album, probably because of the long delay. I am sure, however, that that I will get more excited once we started getting concrete info, interviews and music.
