Seeing Nas in a couple of hours! Should be a good one. Last saw him in 2007 at the house of blues, Anaheim.

Some of these South African promoters are fukked up and out of touch with hip hop, they chose Timberland to headline when 95% of the people will be there to see Nas and Wiz.
WELL NAS IS ON AFRICAN SOIL AS WE SPEAK.
HE IS IN SOUTH AFRICA AND IS SET TO PERFORM ON SATURDAY.
DEFINITELY AM GOING. GOT THE TICKETS AND ALL READY. THIRD TIME SEEING THE GAWD!!
TWICE IN EUROPE. FIRST TIME ON AFRICAN SOIL THOUGH!!
GONNA HAVE TO WAKE UP EARLY TOMORROW AND DRIVE AROUND 300 KM TO SOUTH AFRICA
SO WORTH IT!!

How was it?

I was revisiting Nastradamus. "Life We Chose" is one of my absolute favorite Nas records. It's that spooky Esco shyt. Can't think of many rappers that can be this cinematic without even telling a story. That 2nd verse is so well written.

I don't care what anyone says, aside from three songs: Nastradamus>>>than today nikkas albums:pacspit:

The stuff Esco was spitting on Project Window, Some Of Us Have Angels, Last Words...the Jessica Care Moore intro and outro:ohlawd:

Yo, in a mahogany, black scenery
that was lightning and rain drops
I'm tied up in the basement cocaine spot like Bangkok
I'm blindfold, Vietnam type mind control this torture
His accent sounds like the rarest culture
Askin me, my atrophy stabbin me gradually
Says his attribute, was satanic, masonic, ironic
I felt reminded of my fast life ventures
and winters, blinded til the flashlight enter

...why they don't rhyme like this anymore:to:

How was it?
MAN!!!!!!
the night was just incredible!!!
it was cold as fukk!!!
did not expect the cold and the coffee lines were no joke.
damn, they were long.
overall the night went smooth, little fukkery!!
only once a fight of sorts broke out close to me,but it was squashed quickly.
i was in a foreign country, so i was not gonna get involved in no shyt.
never know how cops react to a foreigner!!!

now to the concert itself - it was nothing but quality.
the highlights:
saw some local hip hop acts that i usually don't pay too much attention to like reason.
dude can spit and had the crowd rocking.will pay more attention to him!!
:whoo:
ladysmith black mambazo was a surprise.always liked them and they did their thing!!LEGENDS!!
:whew:

timbaland was the headlining act and he was sorta mixed bag to me.
he either was drunk or high as fukk. he kept getting the name of the city wrong.
his dancing was :patrice:
but he played his hits so, i had no complaints!!

wiz khalifa had the second best set for me. not the biggest wiz fan,so i did not know every song, but he has hits and the crowd was rocking.

but of course, the highlight was nas.
funny thing for me was the talk before nas came on. no one referred to him as nas. everyone (in my section anyway)was like:"when is the GOAT coming on??" "where is the GOAT"
I always knew about the love africa has for nas, but i was surprised at that!
had a nas fan feeling like:obama::ahh:

and then nas came on.
brehs hearing ny state of mind live is always:banderas::lawd:
he pretty much did all of illmatic and some of his other hits!!
nas also payed homage to brenda fassie who passed away a few years back(she was the queen of southern african pop)
that had me like:bow::gladbron:
how in the hell he know about her. dude obviously knows about african music!!
place was rocking!!!

:dj2::dj2::dj2:

sorry i have no pics. my phone been acting up!!!
one of the few negatives of an otherwise awesome night!!!!

whats this?

Tariq Nasheed that dude who does a podcast/radio show on race has a series of documentaries called Hidden Colours. The 3rd installment is coming soon and features takes on race from people like Paul Mooney and Nas. Saw this on tumblr and Im guessing this is from the filming of Nas' parts for the doc.
