So if this is the last album with all HB production then those reports weren't totally off

Thought it might be Lost Tapes 3 but looks like it may be KD4 or a new Hit Boy produced album

My pipe dream for Nas is to do Magic 3. I'd personally let KD be a completed trilogy. He would have three dope trilogies, which has never been done in any genre of music. However, if he were to do a KD 4, I would hope the last one on the series would either be a reprise of the KD1 intro or a slightly tweaked one to give it that bookend effect of ending the series.

Lol I have NO idea why people think it would be Lost Tapes 3 when more than likely there are NO Lost Tapes to put out. FIVE albums in 3 years means there’s probably very very little scraps left on the cutting room floor, i’d be shocked if there were 8-9 songs in the Mass Appeal vault after the run Nas and Hit have been on and Nas has already stated the Sony vaults are staying shut so what material would he have for LT3 at this point?

We’ll probably get Lost Tapes 3 further down the line at this point unless Nas decides he wants to do business with Def Jam again (not likely) and we get songs like Sinatra In The Sand, The Scientist, White Man’s Paper, NY Stomp, and maybe some of the joints he was working on with Timbaland in 2015.

Speaking of Timbaland i’m actually surprised none of that work ended up on Lost Tapes 2 now that I think on it.

I seem to remember that NY STOMP was the Scientist

I thought it was originally but another poster said they were different songs.

I distinctly remember Nas saying that he had a song with Just Blaze called NY Stomp and Blaze has never spoken about any other song he’s done with Nas except The Scientist so rationale would have us believe they are one in the same but who knows.

The Hip Hop Is Dead era is actually an interesting era for Nas because there’s a whole host of songs Nas recorded that were either finished or close to being finished, titled, and even heard by journalists that didn’t make the album. At one point Where Ya’ll At was very close to making the album. The N was another one that didn’t make it that was circulating. White Man’s Paper with Damian Marley was talked about heavy and was described as being similar sonically to Cam’ron’s Bubble Music. There was a song where Nas was going “fukk Haters! fukk bytches! fukk nikkas!” On the chorus that was never heard except by Elliot Wilson. A bunch of joints that never saw the light of day

Wasn't there some talk that he ended up scrapping an album he recorded with Hitboy between KD1 and KD2 that might have been intended as the original KD2?

Thats what Coop from A2HH said the plug told him.

If that were going to be Lost Tapes 3 i don’t think Nas would call it the “Finale” of him and Hit Boy working together. That would be anticlimatic to go from KD 1-3, Magic 1-2 and then…Lost Tapes 3: The Hit Boy Files. I don’t really see that being the grand culmination of they’re partnership, especially since Lost Tapes as a series has its own identity.

I’m more leaning towards it being Magic 3 as its similar to how they promoted Magic 2 and Nas and Hit seem to like having distinguished marketing strategies for each series. The KD’s get actual release announcements with dates, interviews, singles, etc whereas the Magic’s get a more muted, mysterious release strategy.

We’ll probably get more info on Monday. If memory serves he did the exact same thing for Magic 2. Put up the N logo surrounded by thunder & lightning on a Friday. Followed my a Houdini video. Another Houdini video. The album artwork & release date. And finally the tracklisting.

So starting Monday we should be getting another cryptic tease. Tuesday another cryptic tease. Wednesday release date confirmation and artwork. Thursday tracklisting
