NY State of Mind Pt. 2 sounds like it deserved a video.

Does Nas have any songs with unreleased music videos? Excluding the uncut version of Hate Me Now

Yeah but they eventually got released (Hustlers and UBR) there is a snippet of the video for These Are Our Heroes that ppl saw years ago (all animated)
He was supposedly shooting a vid for 40 Side/Nas is Good in QB but one of his brehs got killed down the block after they filmed hours later

Just seen the Grammy deadline is September 15th. If nobody major drops by then, who do we think will be up for rap album of the year? I’m assuming the team will put KD3 up.

Travis Scott- Utopia
Gunna- A Gift & A Curse
Metro Boomin- Heroes & Villains
Iil Uzi Vert- The Pink Tape
Nas- Kings Disease 3

That will most likely be the lineup. There are a few dark horse candidates such as Quavo, Durk, and Killer Mike but i’m 98% certain those above will be the nominees. This is also with the expectation that Drake will be continuing his boycott of the Grammys and not submit Her Loss and 21 Savage will follow suit in deference to Drake.

Of that lineup Travis Scott WILL win unfortunately. I’ve been following the Grammys for years and the biggest selling album in the Rap field ALWAYS wins with only ONE notable exception in 28 years (Chance The Rapper’s win in 2017 for Coloring Book over Drake’s Views)

KD3 is head and shoulders above any album in that lineup and was the most critically acclaimed rap album of 2022. Nas also has a great narrative with all of his visibility from the Hip Hop is 50 celebrations so him being seen as the de facto face of Hip Hop’s birthday would make a great story for the Grammys to actually award the better album to the GOAT but the Grammys have consistently proven they don’t give a fukk about quality when it comes to who they award so i’m sure the voters will see Travis and his record setting 6 weeks consecutively at number 1 and act accordingly

U.B.R

These Are Our Heroes

Hustlers

All had videos that were never officially released. You can find UBR and Hustlers on YouTube. These Are Our Heroes has disappeared from the internet. It was an animated video

I’m assuming U.B.R. was unreleased during the album’s run because it’s on his official

Hustlers video looks atrocious

Did TAOH disappear due to it being obscure enough that nobody cared to save it or the controversy surrounding the song itself?

another question: I know about the unreleased movie and how it’s incomplete, but is there possible possession of it amongst diehard fans or Nas is the only one with a copy?

Which movie? The one with Elise Neal called Sacred? That movie was filmed & completed and shown at some film festivals and was slated to release via Video/DVD but for some reason didn’t. I linked an older article from the director talking about it, i’ll see if I can find it.

Here’s a review from Variety

If your talking about Keeping Up With The Joneses he never released it

If that is the line up, that’s wild because Nas would literally be the only one from his Era in that line up and should win. I thought they usually put 6 in the category that’s why I thought Killer Mike could slide in there, but I could be wrong. I wonder how much meta critic plays into, because Nas is far and beyond the rest in that rating.

Its 5 nominees for Best Rap Album. Two years ago it was 4 because Drake rescinded his nomination.

Metacritic plays an irrevelent role in who wins a Grammy. There have been several times when an artist or artists have had a substantially higher critic score than the artist who ended up winning. Like I said it’s ALWAYS about sales in the rap category. Even the year Nas won in 2021 he was the highest seller out of the nominees (Jay Electronica/D Smoke/Royce/Freddie Gibbs)

So expect Nas to be nominated (every Kings Disease album has been nominated) but if Travis submits Utopia (He will) then expect Travis to be named the winner. Even though his album is trash.

Facts the 3 albums that I can see being nominated right now is KD3, killer Mike - Michael and Travis Scott - Utopia

Kinda helps most of this year until the summer was quiet

From late last year when KD 3 dropped I can see them also considering Metro Boomin’s album from last year, Drake and 21 IF Drake chooses to submit it ( he pulled CLB out last year) and Ab Soul

This year is a little more harder to tell, Gunna, Thug, Durk had stuff but wasn’t impactful

I could see Noname if she wanted to submit. Killer Mike too

Nas has been nominated at the BET Hip Hop Awards for in the “Impact Track” category for the song 30.

He didn’t garner a third straight Best Hip Hop Album nomination (Kings Disease 1 and 2 were both nominated) and he didn’t get a Lyricist Of The Year nom but somehow Andre 3000 did even though he’s only done TWO verses in the last 18 months….

Make of that what you will…

What I make of it is the bet hip hop awards needs to be shut down, along with everything else that is mainstream. It is completely trash. I’ve listened to a lot of new releases from these artist and it is garbage. That new busta and coi Leroy produced by swizz is 🗑️ and swizz needs to go back to well if that is all he has left. Hot 97 been hyping that Cardi and Megan song and it 🗑️. None of these artist are producing quality that Nas and Hit Boy are creating and it’s not close honestly.

Whatever it is, its Nas news, rumor or not, and worthy of a post for discussion. We know Nas has other music recorded, i.e., Dre. He also once promised Lost Tapes 3. Like I said, Hit boi or not, I am enjoying the run and the frequency of new music.

I could see the new album being Lost Tapes 3 because Nas said that one is actually cooking he just gotta pick the tracks.
