It's also generational. Drake, Cole, and Kendrick will end up as top 10 rappers in many casual lists a decade from now whether people like it or not lol. Future will be on lists, Gucci, Kanye will be higher than on the Billboard list, Wayne will be higher, etc. The same way there was a time when you couldn't find a list that didn't have Rakim or KRS in the top ten, until Pac/Biggie/Nas/Jay started replacing them.
Which will be wack because lyrically and technically there is a clear progression from Krs LL Cool J and even Rakim, with Nas Jay and Big, but with Drake Wayne Future Kanye Kendrick etc there simply isn’t.
Cole and Kendrick probably the only two who can stand toe to toe with those greats, Cole lyrically and Kendrick more musically the rest such as Future shouldn’t be anywhere near top 10 lists, it’s ok to like artists and still understand that rapping wise there are far more advanced.
