Its still bullshyt no matter HOW you spin it.

Kendrick is great but he’s nowhere NEAR Nas level in terms of…anything really. If anything he should have had Drake’s spot at number 8 but if we’re keeping it all the way real Nicki, Drake, nor Kendrick belong in the top ten quite yet. Kendrick has the best claim amongst them for top 15.
I agree I don't have Kendrick in my top ten, although he will be there eventually. But this brings up an interesting question...at what point does a rapper enter the top 10? Is it a years thing? Was Nas (or Jay) top ten by 2001? That was less than a decade from their first albums. For contrast Cole, Kendrick, and Drake released their first official albums over a decade ago. They've put more time in than Pac, Big, Nas, or Jay did by the time they started entering top 5s and top 10s.

Like I said I don't have Kendrick in my top ten yet, but I'm not even sure why lol. Maybe it's that Pac/Big/Nas/Jay felt or feel like legends whereas I remember Kendrick from college and intern days. Same with Cole. But I wonder if someone was 18 years old when Illmatic came out, would they have crowned Nas by 2001 in the top 10? Would that same person crown Biggie after his death? I'd imagine so.

Since they're all together, I wish RZA would bring his studio with him and just leave the microphone on and play tracks and let the legends jump on when they feel the beat. I bet there's some gems to be made.

You know Nas and Wu been like cousins since the beginning.

He was annointed from the jump. It's like they all seen it coming and he lived up to the expectations. It's a rare thing to see. Only seen it happen a couple of times: Nas, Lebron James, Tiger Woods, Serena Williams, Kobe Bryant. They were blessed from the jump and their careers lived up to the impossible hype.

BET put out a list in 02 and I think both Nas and Jay were top ten. Nas didn’t like it at the time thats why he said “Never put me in the top ten bytch/its disrespect to the life/that birth the verses/ a nikka writes who comes first?/ Its the Ice Cubes/MC Shans/ them type dudes

Ebro giving props I'm not gonna shyt on the other guy but he hasn't made a good solo album in 16 years:mjlol:. Okay maybe I am can't help it:lolbron::banderas::umad:

Ebro speaking with my mind right now, lol. I respect everybody’s opinions as long as they’re their real opinions but it’s lowkey hard for me to take someone serious who doesn’t have Nas or Jay-z Top 3 on their Greatest list…really Top 2, I just say 3 to be kind, 😆.

Don’t even matter to me which one you got as #1… 25+ years of greatness and still going, they both deserve it. Nas pulled way in front of Jigga for me the last 3 years but that’s just my opinion…Jigga is a bigger name and has more success musically/hit records so if people wanna use that, along with the skill and catalog and all that, to give him #1 I won’t eat your lunch for that, it’s a good argument. But gotta be either Nas or Jigga man…no one else is even close to them imo

Pac is for me but agree with the general sentiment those two standout amongst almost everybody, i feel like Common is another rapper who's longevity and consistency is understated though.

Do you think Nas was top ten by 2002, or do you agree with Nas that it was premature to say? He had multiple classics by then and was coming off a historic diss battle victory.

Feel he was easily top 5 after dropping Stillmatic, Lost Tapes, God's Son in under 12 months

The biggest knock on him was Nastradamus and 2004-2008, but Distant Relatives and LIG counteracted that and cemented him. With the KD-Magic run he just running up the score at this point
