naw... GodSon was a major album for Nas.. some of his biggest hits "Made You Look:" "I Can"
some of his dopest songs "Book of Rhymes, Revolutionary Warfare"

all while being the King of New York..
this was a huge moment, and album for Nas.

God's Son was the album that Nas proved whatever left he had to prove after Stillmatic. By the end of 2002, dropping God's Son would have been a good career swan song for him cause he (re) solidified his spot amongst legends.

From the first time I heard who killed it I knew what Nas was going for because I used to watch Turner Classic Movies with my father as a kid so I wasn’t thrown off by the voice. I love it and always have.

I think this is one of those songs that would have gone over better with a video to drive home the theme of the song.

I remember when The Source reviewed the album and said Who Killed It was one of Nas’s worst songs ever and i’m like, Nas has WAY WORSE songs than this. Who Killed It from a writing perspective is almost flawless

2x Nas produced by Madlib, one featuring Black Star...

The Black Star verse is The Cure and I'm glad he used it for the Hit-Boy
beat because it doesn't sound smooth on this. The same with the Madlib beat.
That's his Full Circle verse which also sounds better over the Hit-Boy beat and
2nd verse is the verse he rapped on that unreleased Dre song from the
studio session 2 years ago.

Great concept only held back by the detective voice. Personally, that song would've been a great single if not for the detective voice. I do get that from an artist's perspective, the detective voice is him fully committing ti the concept, but everything else about it had the makings of a classic.

Yea Nas and Hit-Boy work TEN TIMES BETTER taking the same verses into account. This is a PERFECT rebuttal to posters saying Madlib would make a better collab album with Nas. Hit-Boy’s production with Nas is more interesting, dynamic, and has more “punch” to it, especially The Cure.

I’m glad Nas goes with his own intuition and doesn’t listen to fans.

I’d rather ALC than Madlib, but not for a whole album, Hit-Boy is still the only producer I want to do a full album with Nas, but I wouldn’t mind an album with a few joints with ALC, HitBoy, No ID, Salaam etc.

What the hell was Nas thinking with the song Who Killed It
"If you don't fail you're not even trying" - Denzel Washington

Nas is an artist bro...too many rappers are called "artists" and they're clearly not, they just rap. Nas is gonna have them "WTF is this???" moments that don't work sometimes, he isn't just gonna give you a bunch of safe "Nas is Like" records that are guaranteed to work. Experimentation = Fire imo, even if it's a failed experiment, I appreciate the creativity.

I don’t even think it failed as I know a bunch of fans who like the song.

But then again i’m not a fan of Blunt Ashes so everything is subjective
