Never knew that. I knew Nas had buzz and every MC in NY knew who he was by 93 because he had Live At The BBQ, Back To The Grill Again, and of course Halftime out by then but I didn’t know Wu, ESPECIALLY as cliquish as they were back in their heyday would have shouted him out so early.

I think it was Ghost who said he first heard Nas from some white girls while on tour in Europe.

yep, and its not just the records, most of these guys cross path during shows at small venues. nas used to tour with large pro, akinyele, kurious, mop, gangstarr, shyheim, ect, opening for bigger acts

Complex interview about the masterclass and other things.
Why Nas Is Teaching a MasterClass on Hip-Hop Storytelling

Will we see more Nas and Hit-Boy projects down the line?
Hit-Boy: Yes, it’s a must on my end. I feel like the challenge of outdoing ourselves, I feel like it’s only getting better every time we create, and I’m just looking forward to seeing what that’s going to bring our way.

Nas & Hitboy’s MasterClass Official Trailer

Interresting the way he's recording the track. I kinda miss the studio days when rappers had to go in the booth, there was a sacred thing about it. Now it almost look like he's on a funkmaster freestyle session.

And he writes his lyrics on the phone, Way different that the way lupe record his tracks

Nas has always talked about writing on his phone. He wrote his verse from Common’s Ghetto Dreams on his iPhone
