Man this is CRAZY, dope he brought it back after all these years.
So the release date is supposed to be July 8th, it's a Thursday and singles are usually dropping on Fridays. It's doesnt make sense unless it's an appetizer for something bigger dropping the next day like an album. I've seen it happened before, sometimes artists are releasing a track from their new project the day before the full thing.
I can certainly ok with Nas completing some of his incomplete unreleased work with other artists for a new official release as long as it is true to what it was originally supposed to be. He did this before with GAME and THE WHOLE WORLD IS A GHETTO track. We already have a lot of the originals.
This was a way Nas could use all that old Sony material. Artist re-make their shyt all the time to own it. He now owns the recordings and not have to bother with Sony if he doesn’t want to. Instead of using the sample, a producer can do a close interpolation, pay far less and not have to deal with sampling.
