Random ass Nas thought :jbhmm:

How did Escobar 97' get on the MIB soundtrack :dead:

shyt has zero in common with the movie

Fire ass shyt tho:wow:

I brought that soundtrack album back in 97.

NONE of the songs on that album with the exception of the Will Smith title track have anything to do with the movie itself lol

Schooling people takes forever; don't bother
saw the merch drop via email...I still can't believe I missed out on the Nastradamus 20th anniversary drop (I didn't see the email for the Nastradamus 20th drop but it was announced on instagram)

I kinda need a Nas bomber jacket or a Nas green camo windbreaker that has a huge white Nas logo on the back and a small white Nas logo on the front where the Nike symbol would be....maybe have some hip hop insignia on the 2 shoulders like some hip hop veteran shyt of how long Nas has been in the game

The sweater/hoodie concept is dope and I have a decent amount of Nas T-Shirts already but if they had a Nas varsity letter jacket with some hip hop military inspired insignia or with Nas albums like NBA patches, that'll be dope

the merch shop has designs that are either overly simplistic or outrageously tacky and nothing in between...I need something that Nas would agree that he would wear (for leisure, and not just for an one-time promo as a walking billboard) and sign off on

for example, the merch store had a facemask that just had "ILL" on it...I get it, it's for Illmatic during the pandemic, but there are actual people who are ill and who died so that was really a bad idea...there are more people out there who don't know the concept of illmatic than those who do for that to even be remotely a good idea -- the merch store sometimes have brainfart shyt like that....for "til the war is won", I'm not a fan of long sleeves with crazy flowers on the sides -- tacky shyt like that, etc. the red baby for the album cover is cool for concept album cover art, but if the red baby is isolated by itself on a T-Shirt, some weirdo guy on the subway who doesn't know Nas' recent album is going to misinterpret that as some illuminati blood sacrifice or some shyt and tell you off, ngl. and why does the hands have to be red when holding the crown? Yeah the red hands come from the red people depicted from the album, but could that be interpreted as "people who wield power have blood stains on their hands" for the concept of King's Disease? People have to really think about for what could be misinterpreted from cosigning imagery on clothing -- there are a lot of conspiracy heads in hip hop so know your audience and scrutinize what you are selling before you try to market designs on merch and wonder why they aren't sold out yet

Props for the information.

Where did you find this?

the website is now defunct, but it was thesource2, and someone was selling the song plus other leaks on tier 2 at outrageous prices. there was no way it was a good deal given that most if not half of those 30 tracks would appear on Lost Tapes 3 whenever Nas decides to set a release date.

Again, props.

Is there any other information about the other songs? If I had to guess, it's material from the follow up to Life Is Good that didn't get released. Could it be that Mas and his team found out the material had been compromised, which is why he didn't release it?

Took a walk this morning and listened to the IWW re-release on the headphones. A few things that caught my attention:

Y'all ever notice Nas tells a story on almost every song on IWW? Sometimes it's a whole song, sometimes just a verse or less. I always loved the album for being so cinematic, but it stands out more in 2021 because that level of storytelling is kind of a lost art now.

In the skit before I Gave You Power, when Jungle shoots somebody and gets rid of the gun, a car drives by bumping De La Soul's Plug Tunin :mjlol: I swear any other rapper would have had someone roll by playing Onyx or Cube or something like that. Nas lowkey has a funny/dark sense of humor.

On Affirmative Action AZ pronounces the G in congac :deadmanny: Always wondered if he did that because it works better in the rhyme or if thats just how he says it because I feel like it could go either way.

Nas Is Coming is dope as fukk and has some of the illest verses on the album.

The sequence of Suspect to Shootouts to Live nikka Rap is ridiculous and you would be hard pressed to find a better three song stretch of album cuts on any album.

Always appreciated them putting If I Ruled the World at the end of the album. It weirdly works as an outro. The end of it kinda feels like the curtains are closing.

I did kinda notice that story telling statement. Man listening to it was written is a great experience and I've always felt that way personally. To your point, I've never understood how people could say the album is commercial. There is really not one commercial song on the album. That 3 song run suspect, shootouts and live N rap is some gritty New York rap. Nas flow and lyrics on we dem n**** is so elite. I ran it back yesterday and I have zero skips on that album. His first 2 albums i can play straight through. He has a max 2 misses on I am for me. He came out the gate with 3 dope albums in a row.
